One of my complaints is that the newer generation of Q’s have no doctors after Emily was killed off. The Quartermaines were central to both their own story orbit and the hospital. For better or worse they have been the core family with the most representation as far as members onscreen since Labine.

Now it’s like they are actively moving every character away from the hospital (Willow and Joss are not great characters, but at least they were connected to the actual hospital). Even the recurring doctors are not seen often, just randos that nod and smile and have no lines so they don’t have to pay them as much.

I am one of a great many fans who love Tross! They are such good examples of girl besties. And, I love the idea that the garage apartment at the Q's has 2 bedrooms!!! Most are like studio apartments. That we saw today was spacious.

Also loved Trina reacting to Gio as an artiste!

They've been roommates for years. I don't mind the friendship which I feel seems very real and youthful; I mind that the show desperately wants to keep Trina as Joss' ethnic friend/Langston to her Starr. That is the role FV prefers all minority characters in, as far as I can tell.

I could understand moving Willow into the Quartermaine society world for the purposes of the Willow/Drew/Nina material PM was clearly developing (and which I think is very good). And I don't like or buy Joss working in medicine (let alone science) at all, so I was fine with that. But I do agree they need more young doctors and nurses. Another reason killing both Emily and Georgie (who I believe was looking to be pre-med or in the sciences) was foolish.

I'm really ready for them to write for Trina!! And, I accept that Gio is lined up to be her next pairing but it is also important that they be respectful of her grief over the loss of Spencer. I was impressed that Taby herself called out that racist POS last weekend & I'd like to see Trina tap into some of that. But, yes, they should take their time.

That was good stuff, and I also enjoyed Ava's reaction.

I do think production made a mistake in leaving Gio's violin once he got to the main theme of Nessum Dorma. Why stay through the intro -- which few people recognize -- and then cut when the "chorus" kicks in?

Thanks for the correction! I thought she was 64 or 65.  NLG looks great.

Funny, I thought it was weird the way the show cut Nessum Dorma during Gio's performance too.  Although I am not sure how many people are that familiar with Tosca or Nessum Dorma.  They just know they've heard it.

Same, and I think it has to do with Kelly Monaco's age and the type of relationship I am sure they share.

Same. The missing generations of doctors is concerning, but Tree and Jaws were not the answer to that. Bring back a recast Lucas Jones, re-introduce Felix, see if Adam Grimes is up for reprising the role of Dr. Kyle Julian from Night Shift, and re-build up the hospital cast from there. Re-introduce a recast Maya Ward to the hospital staff, too. That would be the way for the Q's to be re-associated with the hospital, in terms of having a doctor on-staff, per the request of an ailing Monica.

I may laugh every time I see that dedicated bench for Gregory. Especially when you think how little time has been spent grieving Spencer by anyone, let alone Trina.

Austin was murdered and nobody talks about it at all. Someone attempted to kill Sonny and the feds and Anna are all over it.

I liked Alley Mills as Heather until now. Before the Hook stuff happened she reminded me more of Mary O’Brien’s  version than Robin. Sort of a panicked schemer compared to Mattson’s cooler head, but I could see her as Heather. But if Robin Mattson isn’t going to be playing her then what are we doing? Frank needs to learn that good things can end, and it’s not always a bad thing. Get the man some therapy!

And, oddly, Peter & Gregory had something in common - fans could not wait for them to die!

Then, about Heather, there's this odd group of fans, including me, who never believed that Heather was The Hook. Clearly D&C had someone else in mind for about 3/4 the time. I personally have believed that Heather killed no one (as the Hook anyway) and she just said she did because she thought Esme had done it & was saving her daughter. We, of course, just complicate matters & get a lot of odd looks.

I wonder if a number of those in charge weren't thrilled with NAC, especially his wanting to leave instead of linger on, and his supposedly being very supportive of the Sprina pairing when the show wanted to put Spencer elsewhere.

    • I'm copying and pasting the entire post because, while I enjoyed the watch, I agree with every single one of your points (as I posted above I thought the dialogue tried for clever sophistication without sounding realistic throughout, in fact.)
    • I've just been over Josslyn since her corn costume on Halloween, putting her into a "leading lady" kind of position, simply because she is Carly's daughter, all while backburning other children is annoying AF.
    • Hilarious that Steffy just barges into Brooke's house to see Hope without knocking. Ridge bought it, so I guess she feels she's entitled to.
    • Joss is nowhere near the top of my list to keep currently.  I just wouldn't kill her off and consider bringing her back sometime down the line.  I guess it depends on how well the show is able to develop the next generation of talent with Rocco, Danny, Georgie, etc.
    • I've watched more episodes, but I wanted to make one short comment before I made my longer post. Someone on the show loves dressing men in ways where they have plunging necklines and show lots of chest hair. Not complaining but I think Chief Marceau (sp?) and Logan are the only two who have not shown their chest hair at this point. I have now watched episodes 6077 to 6090. I'm up to September 11, 1979. Nancy and Mike have returned from their vacation. Ann Flood is another wonderful presence. She's only had a few scenes, but I already like her. They're worrying about Draper and his lost job offer in New York. The truth is slowly coming out. I can't say that I'm invested all that much. I still don't care all that much about Draper, but he's no longer bellowing and whining so it's all good. He has had some nice scenes with April and there was an uncomfortable confrontation with Margo. Draper and Logan's scenes are where I like him the best. The two actors play well off each other. Also, Draper and Raven have an interesting thing in scenes. I wonder if they hook up at some point. They always give each other weird looks during scenes. Is this foreshadowing? Hmmm. The Raven of it all. MY word Sharon Gabet is amazing. How did she not win the Emmy? Was this going on during the Judith Light time? Gabet owns every scene. Raven and Eliot's scenes crack me up. Gabet and Lois Kibee are giving masterclass acting scenes in their moments together. I never wanted their confrontations to end. Kibbee's Geraldine has discovered Raven doing something she should not be doing and that confrontation was pitch perfect. The later scene with Logan was shocking. He does something that I've rarely seen on soaps. Such good storytelling and acting. I also liked how April and Draper were drawn into the madness.  Paige/Tobias/kidnapping/Steve: This is the one storyline that suffers because I came into the show late. I'm not connecting to it as much although I enjoy it. Steve and his low cut shirt amuse me. Calvin is such a cute and bright presence. I thought they were writing him off, but he's back  so apparently not. Marceau seems to be leaving but I hope not. The actor is wonderful. Deborah has come back in the episode I just started so Frances Fisher is here. I will say the actor playing Tobias is excellent. I think he was on another ABC show I watched but I'm not googling.  Nora/Owen/Eddie/Brian/Paige: After a week of non-stop Nora, the movie storyline has not started full force yet. It's more about Nora's drinking and Brian and Paige's feelings for each other. Nora is becoming more manipulative as she lies to all of them so they will make the movie. Owen revealed Brian's secret which I accidentally guessed from the first episode, but I actually don't think it's true. Eliot/Margo: Margo had a fantastic scene with April where April confronted her about the real relationship she has with Eliot. Mario admitted the truth. It's so refreshing when characters are intelligent and honest. It makes their mistakes even more heartbreaking. They're not idiots. Eliot is such a fabulous character. He's an absolute slime and yet he's one of the most compelling characters on the show. So nice to be hooked into a soap opera again.
    • Joss can go, permanently; killed off, body bag and all, and never ever return.

    • I was under the impression that it is always wrong to post private email unless there is some threat of bodily harm. But I think your doing so brings up an interesting point since it shows that I had known about the illness/disease since the prior April if I am wrong & you are right & my point was to break the news why didn't I post it ages ago? My reply is that my point was never about scoop or breaking news.  Somewhere in this onslaught you've said I posted about some actors having an affair. I have zero idea what or who you're talking about.  You mention a cast member's medical condition which about a dozen people discussed & someone NOT ME began the discussion at least a month before I joined it.  Is everyone who took part in that conversation based on having concern for the actress in trouble or just me? There are definitely things that are not true ... and they are not lies told by me. Probably they are things being misremembered.
    • Lol.  I still believe there is a place for Joss on the canvas.  This just isn't it and I am not sure Eden McCoy is the right choice for the role.
    • I haven't read it since high school--but it has stuck with me and is a pretty important book (as a kid I did always assumed it was related to the Wells work too

    • I am entertained by the Duprees.
