Effective Monday, March 4, the Discuss Previews and Spoilers forum will maintain a form of consistency in line with the Discuss the Soaps forum.

As with the parent forum, each month anyone can create a monthly discussion thread for each soap opera, but in this case it is pure spoilers discussion. Individual episode discussions will continue in their respective threads found in DTS.

This does not mean that spoilers can only be discussed or shared in the individual spoiler threads. Instead, it provides a place for people to read the latest happenings on each soap in one clear and concise location. Major casting news, promos, etc. can still be posted as their own separate thread within the Discuss Previews and Spoilers forum. Promos, casting news, etc. can also be discussed in the monthly threads, too. Overall, the idea is to continue driving discussion while maintaining a layout that is easy to find what you are looking for.

To aide posters with spoiler discussions relating to content published by reputable outlets, listed below is a sample list of reputable publications and/or websites curated by the SON Administration.

Sample Reputable Publications/Websites:

  • Soap Opera Network
  • Soap Opera Digest
  • Soaps In Depth
  • Daytime Confidential
  • Soap Hub
  • Michael Fairman TV
  • Deadline
  • TV Insider
  • TV Line
  • PEOPLE
  • TV Guide
  • Entertainment Weekly

Note: Reputable publications/websites are not limited to the above. This is just a sample of outlets we find reputable and/or valuable for discussing what's about to happen on your favorite daytime soap operas. Spoilers coming from verifiable and reputable publications (sample list above) must include a link and/or appropriate credit.

As always, discussions should remain on topic. Personal attacks against posters and real life people is unacceptable behavior and can lead to a suspension or your posting privileges will be removed. Additionally, the ignore setting is your friend. Use it.

We hope this change is a positive one.

This is a great decision and I am all for it. I've been thinking about something like this for quite some time. Schitts Creek Reaction GIF by CBC

Just to clarify, this means that when DAYS releases their weekly promo, it should go within the DAYS monthly spoiler thread, rather than creating a new topic every week?

Per the OP: ❝ Major casting news, promos, etc. can still be posted as their own separate thread within the Discuss Previews and Spoilers forum. ❞

The thing with Soap Hub from what I've observed is at one point they were a reliable source, but I don't know what happened, they've been reduced to being like soaps dot com

Take what you will from it, but I'll just say this...

If Michael Maloney wrote it, you're good.

I'm staying away from posting spoilers again after the last debacle.

I'm noticing a slow shift in this board in the wrong direction.
