The closest that I could find was when in August 2022 you said, "Sabato could've been a decent return to the main show once upon a time..."  But, my point was that I appreciate that it is difficult to predict how this group will respond to the various twists and turns.  I meant no harm, as I assumed you welcomed dissenting opinions.

Oh good, because for a while there it seemed like you were just showing up to gently shake your head and tut indulgently at our opinions. The upshot of your expedition is that none of us have asked for it (and I was responding to someone else's speculation about Jagger and Karen's original exits/lack of return), so we're neither impossible to please nor blinkered in our motives or reactions. I've literally never given much more thought to Jagger coming back, because it's just not a character I see any purpose for. Did I briefly speculate that ASJ could've, at one point in the late '90s or early 2000s, garner interest for the network as a return given his lingering brand in those days, sure, but that's as far as I've ever taken that thought.

I am 99.9% sure in one of my thousands of posts on this forum I probably threw out a Jagger return at some point.  I was even excited for his Nightshift return and figured he'd migrate to the main show.   I can safely say that anyone on this thread or board that currently posts has not asked or pushed for a Jagger return in the year 2024 lol.  I can't think of anyone on this board that even is a huge Jagger fan.  Most GH fans on here have at best some nostalgia for him or just outright disgust because of his former portrayer.

Probably pick up the current stories.  I think at best we'd get a soft reboot and some stories would be quickly wrapped and some characters trimmed off the cast.  I don't see Frank going for a full blown revamp.

I'm all for it, because I find it fascinating when it's done (the OLTL/AMC Hulu revivals, Neighbours on Amazon and more recently Sussman's Y&R) even when it doesn't work out. But I'd be pretty surprised if PM does it outright here. I can't see Frank going for it. But we're all about to find out just how much power each creative has.

@Darn and I were discussing this recently. It was very noticeable when Guza ghostwrote in late '97 and then again in spring '02 before his name was officially back on the show (the Carly 'death' story). I think Marland may have done it for a time early in his '70s run, when Bobbie was allegedly first introduced before his name was on the end credit roll. And Malone and Griffith famously did it in January of 2003 at OLTL a month before their "Storm of Change" soft reboot - the show's dialogue changed overnight from Tomlin's campy schlock. Ironically that ghostwriting period was a lot better than much of what came later lol.

I don't know if that will happen here, but if it does knowing PM I'm willing to bet we'll notice fast. So much GH dialogue is purely functional exposition.

If nothing else, I want Mulcahey and Korte to be able to bring back dialogue that reveals character and doesn't just recap the plot for the folks who aren't paying close enough attention.  IMO, you shouldn't even need exposition if you're writing for the characters.  If the audience is smart, they'll figure out what's going on later.

    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
    • Unfortunately, as the 90s wore on, Felicia started wearing as many gray and neutral tones as Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan could produce, and the shoulder pads deflated to a drop sleeve.
