Of Erica's contemporaries.. Brooke and Barbara were Erica's best fued.

Of the next generation down, Annie was Erica's best feud... especially when both were at Oak Haven.  The way Annie kept reminding Erica that she was no better then her, that she also had stabbed a man, and then wondered out loud 'And people think I'm the crazy one' once she found out about Janet/Erica's burying Kinder in her backyard.

Mostly because TIIC refused to let those chickens come home to. I think one of the Marah's got to call Reva a slut, but that was quickly patched up. Reva would've been much better served by kids who realized Mom was an unreliable screw-up.

More of the animosity between Van and Blake is with Sherry Stringfield, right around the time Vanessa returns home. Blake is pulling rank as Mrs. Spaulding, and Roger's daughter. At one point, Vanessa outright tells her she despises her because she slept her way to the top. Blake counters with something like "it's not my fault the only man you can keep interested is your daddy."  It wasn't nearly as salty with LK in the role.

I remember that Marah it was Lindsay McCeon who people called "porn Marah"  I actually liked her (realizing her limits as an actress) as she seemed more introverted and just generally annoyed by Reva ( I hated when they wanted that heavier girl to act like Reva Jr.) It was Taggert who let Marah jump down Reva's throat when she was in prison, and Marah got to say "Once again, your not around so someone else has to take care of your responsibilities.") Reva would have had much better more realistic drama if it centered on her screwed up kids and her futile efforts to be the kind of mom the wanted (but then Kimmer wouldn't be the center of the story so she would much rather be cloned, or travel through paintings.)

That scene between Van and Blake would have been GREAT! "Oh NO she DIDN"T!" Van should have always been at Spaulding...( I would have Spaulding take over Lewis and never mention it again and we never see that ugly Lewis Oil office.)

Beyond that, when RN played a bad guy on Y&R he didn't like living in LA plus was homesick for wife & young grandsons, etc. But, if the show was ready to seriously do a real recast Roman Brady, I have no doubt that one could be found who would be happy to be in LA & employed even at bargain basement prices. But, I mean, great idea, as RN would be so good in this role.

This was one of the moments when Brooke showed that she was the bigger person in her feud with Stephanie. Another was when Stephanie was in hospital after being poisoned by Sheila and Brooke visited her with drawings from Rick and Bridget wishing her well.

If the shoe had been on the other foot Stephanie would only have visited Brooke in hospital to gloat and in the scene above she would probably have helped Sheila aim properly....

Great observation!

I liked that Brooke put their feud aside in trying to defend Stephanie's life at a time of crisis. Brooke does have good in her, despite her notorious antics.

Cold to say but, I like that Stephanie didn't break and feel sorry for Sheila when she was about to off herself (after years of terrorizing others).

It's telling that Stephanie was the only one in the room who didn't discourage Sheila from doing it.

    • So yesterday I wandered off on a tangent about Elvis Presley, off the top of my head. Probably no one cares but I want to correct facts. Elvis Presley did have a twin who was stillborn. They named him Jesse Garon Presley & in a level of their emotional life he was very real to Elvis's mama & to a lesser degree to Elvis himself. I will now return you to your regularly scheduled discussing post-Ron prattle.
    • They are the absolute stars for me. I’m delighted every day that my feelings about them from the special on the show, turned out to be that and so much more. I genuinely feel episodes are better when they’re featured. This cracked me the hell up especially with Leslie listening

. This episode was so good, I will be rewatching when I get home tonight. THIS was classic soap opera.
    • I can barely remember who was the person they tested her with for the AMC revival but I *do* remember kinda liking them together (anyone remember better?  lol)  But yes, I feel the same.  It might not help that when I became a regular viewer Tad was presumed dead and she was with Craig...  I do remember that my sister's best friend had been an AMC viewer with her mom and dad and that they were very excited that Tad was returning... OK I instantly remembered that.  And now once again I'm sad about what coulda been with the reboot.
    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
    • As hard as it is for me to imagine anyone but Don Stewart as Mike Bauer...I dunno...maybe someone like "Adam-12"'s Kent McCord?  Or Robert Hogan?
    • Yep I don't hate Javi and then he's macking on Leo and I'm done with him. Leo is a failure who needs to go away   I am bracing myself for Alex reading the manuscript and imagining him and Stephanie as the main characters, because this couple has literally nothing else to do until Joy comes back showing
    • Oh yes. The towel scene though
    • Interesting that Donald May has been mentioned twice. He's on my dreamcast list for Alan. He was somewhat older than Stewart and Bernau, but he could have played either role. An actor I thought about for Mike was Dan Hamilton. He played a role on GL during the 60s, but enough time had passed that it shouldn't have been a problem. He usually played smarmy characters but it would have been cool if they had gone against typecasting.
