May 31, 20232 yr Member Last year, I believe, TC was interviewed on Maurice Benard's State of Mind and spoke about his battle with addiction. He said he battled it through marriage and a baby in Ohio, and divorce. He'd moved back to LA for work, but his alcoholism had left him unemployable and basically homeless. How he hoped that by talking about it, he could battle this demon and return to a better place. Benard told him he was one of the finest actors on GH he'd seen, and he looked forward to seeing him back in the GH halls again one day. 😪 I am devastated that one of my fave soap actors way back when has experienced such a setback. It sounds from the TMZ article like he may be homeless again. 😥 I hope he finds help and support.
May 31, 20232 yr Member As I said in the GH thread, it's very sad. I was encouraged by his appearance on Mo's stupid show and thought Tyler sounded very honest, clear and committed to getting well. I even entertained his return in the future. It seems he still has a long way to go. Edited May 31, 20232 yr by Vee
May 31, 20232 yr Member This is just so sad. I, too, really thought he'd turned a corner. I know recovery isn't always linear, but to have another public incident just when he seemed to be piecing his reputation back together... I hope he's able to find the resources to receive treatment and that he's able to commit to it fully.
May 31, 20232 yr Member Sending Tyler nothing but positive vibes. Having endured watching alcoholism on both sides of my family, I know how hard it is to fight that urge to want to drink. I am hopeful that one day soon, he will emerge on the other side strong, healthy, and free from addiction.
May 31, 20232 yr Member This is sad. I had a great friend who was an alcoholic. He tried to stay sober. It was a rollercoaster. He admitted to me that he couldn't take it anymore. His self worth was so low. We would chat either by phone or by text regularly. I had lost a family member so I wasn't doing well. I finally pulled myself together and checked on Paul and noticed he hadn't called or text me. I thought he was busy with work. I later found out from his sister he had committed suicide by hanging himself. I found out he died the same day I lost my aunt. It hit me hard. Later on I found out he was reaching out to me a few days before he committed suicide. How I still miss him to this day.
May 31, 20232 yr Member Oh boy. I hope this won’t be another Nathaniel Marston situation. Very sad. Addiction is just so devastating.
May 31, 20232 yr Member Le sigh. I had hoped that moving down here to San Diego, but still finding work (not to mention SOM) was a sign of a turn in the road for him. Positive energy sent his way. 1 hour ago, Soapsuds said: This is sad. I had a great friend who was an alcoholic. He tried to stay sober. It was a rollercoaster. Everyone else joked it off, but that's a trigger button for me and I was not having it so we sat with him, talked with him, and walked him home from the bar. So I feel that.
May 31, 20232 yr Member Like everything else in life, recovering from addiction is not a sprint, but a marathon. Hopefully, TC will get the help he needs, and he'll get back on that road to recovery again.
May 31, 20232 yr Member This makes me so sad. I hope he can get himself back in recovery and get healthy.
May 31, 20232 yr Member eh, I thought it was something more horrific tbh. Being arrested for being passed-out drunk at the airport is very... Andy Griffith teas.

The similarities between Tyler and my brother's struggles with alcohol and that way it has affected them gave me chills.

I've been really concerned about him ever since he did Mo's State of Mind because he strongly indicated that he wanted one doctor to take care of everything & he's got a brain bleed, he's an addict, he's bipolar & something else that I've forgotten. But I remember that it was 4 things. And, they just call for specialists.
