I'm gonna stay eighteen forever

So we can stay like this forever

And we'll never miss a party

cause we keep them going constantly

And we'll never have to listen

to anyone about anything

cause it's all been done and it's all been said

we're the coolest kids and we take what we can get

Donkeyboy was one of my fave albums of 2009...

Now I know ScandiPop English can be hard to grasp, but as much as I love the adorable, and now out Joe McElderry, why does it seem like X factor completely didn't get the irony in these lyrics...

That seems like a very depressing video to sell a song. Of course I guess it hasn't been much of a hit for him, so perhaps the very depressing angle was what he should have gone with.

I think that woman's voice suits the song better than Joe's. I think he would be better off going more in an Erasure direction -- she's a little more Pet Shop Boys.

Well it was number one across Scandinavia--but they did do a different version for the UK (total flop)

Do you think Joe's album will flop? I wasn't a big fan during X Factor but I admit all the media about what a nice guy he is has swayed me--his album is about half good.

I think just about anyone from a talent show seems destined to less and less success, unless they are well taken care of, which is rare. They don't seem to care about Joe at all. The show only cares about controversy and stunts -- they're more interested in Cheryl Cole's career than in any of the contestants. Saddling Joe with that poor Christmas single was a sign.

So far his new single hasn't done all that well, I don't think.

    • I don't know if it was the writing or performance but I felt like we finally got to see the real Ted. Especially the way he talked to Martin when confronted, felt like a completely different person. He felt darker and like a total liar who was mad he got caught. I expected him to be remorseful and want to apologize to each and every family member who he came into contact with but he seemed like he didn't care. It completely changed how I view him and it makes me wonder if this is the direction they're going to take Ted in with the recast.
    • Tessa clarified a few years ago that she is gay and not bi.   I find it offensive that the show is teasing her with Daniel. Mariah told Sharon she went emotionally/mentally to a dark place, and while she was out of town on business she got drunk and did something bad.  But Mariah didn't say she cheated.  The show wants us to assume that, but she didn't say that.  She could have taken drugs or who knows what.  All we know is that she feels shame and doesn't want Tessa to know.  Mariah says the inner darkness is due to the longterm influence of Ian in the past, and she hasn't healed from that. With a *good* writer, we could have organic conflict in the Teriah marriage, without cheating.  But JG isn't a good writer.
    • Was that before his accident? I think it was. Most of us have never seen him before it happened.
    • I wonder if Falcon Crest wasn't seen as macho enough for them.  I first saw Dynasty on FX around 1994 or 1995. I think it ran for a few years, although I may be off as I moved and lost the channel for a while.
    • -- The fact that we know the mess that Billy made when he renovated the Chancellor place makes his entire sadsack attitude pathetic. I wanted someone to smack the hell out of him. -- And why did Diane care so much about Billy's opinion beyond hearing he liked it better before? Why continue pressing him on it? Josh Griffith clearly thinks this is a storyline, and it isn't. It never was. -- So Mariah cheated on Tessa offscreen. OF COURSE it was offscreen. Then we got this ridiculous, convoluted explanation of why she cheated, ending in her announcement that she doesn't have any character at all. GMAFB.  -- Now we'll get the cliche garbage of Mariah confessing to Tessa, who turns to Daniel for sex even though she's a lesbian. (Please spare me the comment that Tessa is bi.) -- The excuse for Summer leaving town? Also pathetic. Why in the hell would she have to leave town to find a new creative director for Marchetti?
    • I vaguely recall it surfaced on either TNT or TBS around 1993 or so but I could be wrong about the channel. By 1997 when this article was written Knots was still airing on TNT, Dallas was on the old TNN network (which today is Paramount), and Dynasty was on…well I don’t even recall now but feel like it was either E!  or Bravo. TNN ran Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas together in the evenings for years surprised they didn’t just pick up FC to resurrect the trifecta.
