How to remove photo thumbnails from displaying on sidebar or UnreadContent

@Errol   The forum menu displays on my PC in a way that sometimes any recent attached photos appear as thumbnails on the right side menu. They are often completely unrelated to what I am currently reading. They can be thumbnails of still images or thumbnails of animated gifs.  Is there a way to disable that, please?

(I added more downthread re: unread content)

Adding on more info.  It's not just the sidebar.  Thumbnails of attachments also appear on the "Unread Content" menu.

I often go to that menu to scroll quickly to see what's new on all topics from politics to cancelled soaps, to music, to spoilers, to primetime, to current soaps, etc etc etc.

I view "Unread Content" in "Expanded View" because I like to see the first few lines of the post, to see if I want to click.  The expanded view shows thumbnails of any attachments underneath the first few lines of the post.
I can eliminate the thumbnails if I go to "Condensed View" but Condensed won't let me see the first few lines of text.

I created a generic example of what I sometimes see when scrolling Unread Content:

@Errol Is there any way to allow Expanded View of Unread Content
to *not* display thumbnails?
I'd like to see the first few lines of text that Expanded View gives
but no thumbnails.
The thumbnails are usually just reply-gifs and don't give any insight into what's being discussed.
