I have to laugh at how enraged the intellectually- and socially-limited fan boys are, as they scream about how the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters in the mix is "destroying the show" because "there were no qu**r characters in the game."

Um, hello? They obviously never played the original games or know anything about them. They are just jumping on the homophobic bandwagon and soiling their painties in rage out of knee-jerk (emphasis on the "jerk," LOL) bigotry.

Their impotent fury is hilarious. Whatever would they do if faced with actual, real problems?

Over a game? Yeah, that's crazy. It sort of makes me think of the Dr. Suess and Mr. Potato Head scandal, lol!

Is the FEDRA organization ran by the fireflys? I think you'll enjoy S01E07. It's another one of those flashback scenes but it digs further into Ellie. She's a firecracker I tell ya. In this episode, you'll see what she meant when she told Joel that she has killed a person. At first, I thought she was bluffing as telling Joel that she has killed before would reassure him that she's capable of using a gun. It's a good episode.

Started watching today and at the end of Episode 2. Loving this actress so I'm so annoyed at this ending.

About to start Episode 3 and getting nervous.

It definitely gets you in the feels. His daughter and her woman were my favorites so far so of course...it's downhill from there. lol. But I like all the characters so far. Shoutout to the woman scientist in Indonesia. That actress sold that whole scene at the start of Episode 2.

Showin' some love for the show. Get ready for Episode 3! It's so touching. Kudos to both Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman for such a beautiful story. This is what soaps need. Hahaha! I'm serious! Although you know what? Whenever I see Murray Bartlett, I can't seem to get his character who defecated in someone's luggage in The White Lotus out of my head.  But I live for it.

He'll always be Dom from LOOKING for me.

I watched Episode 3. I will be very curious to see how the person who wanted me to watch it especially felt about it. He said he cried like a baby.

Me? It definitely got me in my feelings. And I liked that they subvert the Bury My Gay trope and turned something typical into something quite beautiful, romantic, Wuthering Heights-ish. But perhaps I've coming from it from a different perspective than others. Or looking deeper than I think. Or not looking deeper enough. From a writer's point of view, that episode was beautifully constructed.

Or perhaps I fell like it was not going to end well. And I did love the role reversal between them. Or perhaps i was expecting a bit of the MAGICIANS episode 'A Life in a Day.'

I don't know. I feel it didn't hit me like it has others and I am still wondering why.

Usually if I'm still thinking about something from a show/movie...it's a good sign though so

When folks are melting down and gnashing their teeth over all these minor, absurd "issues," you know they have lost their minds, LOL.

I think FEDRA is run by the "remaining government," and the Fireflies are members a resistance force, so I don't believe FEDRA is run by the Fireflies. The two organizations appear to be battling each other.

Check out this essay on the two groups:

Pedro  Pascal gets cuter and more appealing every time I see him!

The fact that soaps no longer even attempt drama like this is a major reason why soaps are failing, IMHO.

I'm very impressed by the casting of this series. Everyone, from the leading regulars to the one-time guest stars and bit players are impressive.

What did you think of the third episode?

I've watched eight of the season's nine episodes as of right now. Every one of them has been a roller-coaster ride.

Ugh. I guess I'm confused because the article said this:

Oh, wait. I assumed that the show had 8 episodes because it seems to me a lot of series wrap it up in 8. I hate that. So, the cliffhanger for the season finale is that Joel lied to Ellie?

Remember when sales for Reese's Pieces skyrocketed when E.T. pimped the product? I kind of wonder how the sales are doing for Chef Boyardee since it seems to be the only delectable cuisine for these characters.

    • Thank you for that. I came into the show at a confusing time for Cliff because he just floats from one story to the next and his job appears to change. I like him even though I know I probably shouldn't since he's such a creep at times. I might have to go back and watch some of the previous stories because I'm missing some important pieces of Deborah and Geraldine's backstories.    Thank you for the explanation. I'm not sure I have the patience for that so I think I'll give it a miss. I must have bought it with the idea that it was going to cover her time on the soaps.
    • David Bailey was the only actor that I remember as Russ. I was too young to remember Sam Groom or Robert Hover. When David Bailey returned in 1989, I thought the powers that be should have recast the part. However, I went back to watch some episodes with Bailey. Actually, Bailey was good. The show missed a great opportunity to keep Bailey on longer than six months. Bailey always great chemistry with Vickie Wyndham, Irene Dailey and Connie Ford. And he was good in scenes with Carmen Duncan. Russ could have been involved with Iris again and possibly Rachel with the return of Carl Hutchins. Charles Keating's reappearance in 1989 with Carl being involved with the Red Swan story.  Beverly Penberthy's return in 1989 would have been a treat. Pat could have played the aunt for Josie to lean on, and good romantic pairing later for Spencer Harrison. Even though Paul Stevens had passed away in 1986. I would have brought back the character Brian Bancroft; this time being played by Donald May or John Gabriel. Was the intention for David Bailey to return for only short-term purposes.

    • Of course it's just a rumor so it shouldn't be taken that seriously and when there really is an issue usually an actor will just turn the role down or leave (like the first Adam Newman on Y&R). If anything I think the producers might be keeping the kissing down to avoid issues with more conservative viewers. When it comes down to it Facebook pages are full of ignorant people who speculate about everything.
    • The facebook comments are *very* entertaining! Sometimes I enjoy going down that rabbit hole. It doesn't matter the soap, if it's on Facebook, they are always wildly off the mark.
    • Then they shouldn't accept roles playing gay. ETA: They would probably not have any reservations about playing cheaters or liars but kissing another man is too much. I'm so sick of this attitude. Just to be clear though, we don't know for sure if that is the case here. It's still only a rumour.
    • I think I join others here who believe that Russ never really got over Rachel. So, I would have considered him in the wake of Mac's death as a partner for Rachel. I do not even remember Hover, might as well be WHOver?!!! But, Sam Groom & David Bailey each in their own ways were good. Of course, it would have been good to have some more relatives for him & my own strong preference was for Beverly Penberthy. Pat could have functioned as his sister and she could have worked at Cory, too.  But, always open to new talent.
    • Sure, but when it comes to playing gay roles a lot of straight men become terrified that people will actually think they are gay if they do a kissing scene.
    • IF that's true, it's 2025, and that's why they call it acting!
    • I forgot about the Charlotte Wheaton saga....wasnt her real killer that Alicia television woman..it really was a big "who cares" as it involved people we didn't know (I do wish Charlotte would have lived to just be an annoying pain in the ass to everyone as a recurring character...)It didn't help that it was Faux Ed and as you say, VanFleet makes PS look like a live wire!  Didn't Fletcher and Mo have a radio show at that time WTF was Long thinking during this time? I saw another clip of Maeve and she is yet again laying in bed as she is preggers..I swear LD must have had it written in her contract that she was to remain off her feet for all of her roles..(wasn't she in a wheel chair on ATWT?)
