Need To Know
โThe Bold and the Beautifulโ continued to rank No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49.
The game shows โThe Price is Rightโ and โLetโs Make a Dealโ saw massive year-over-year gains among Total Viewers.
โTODAY with Jenna & Sheinelleโ saw the largest week-to-week and year-over-year gains across daytime broadcast in key demos, up substantially from โTODAY with Jenna & Friends.โ
During the week of April 27 โ May 1, 2026, โTODAY with Jenna & Sheinelleโ continued to outperform the year-ago performance of its predecessor โTODAY with Jenna & Friends,โ both demographically and among Total Viewers, plus CBSโ annual preemption of โBeyond the Gatesโ and โLetโs Make a Dealโ on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29, due to UEFA Champions League games, had surprising results, both positively.
For the week, โTODAY with Jenna & Sheinelleโ (1.525 million) was up +0.03 and +0.04 week-to-week, respectively, among Women 18-49 (0.25 rating vs. 0.22 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.32 rating). Compared to the year-ago performance of its predecessor, โTODAY with Jenna & Friends,โ the fourth hour of the โTODAYโ franchise was up +0.08 among Women 18-49 (0.25 rating vs. 0.17 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.28 rating), with the news program tying its season high in the latter. Among Total Viewers, the hour was up +42,000 week-to-week (vs. 1.483 million) and +386,000 year-over-year (vs. 1.139 million).
Despite an unusual week, wherein the game show was preempted on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29 for UEFA Champions League coverage, and Nielsen excluding the Monday, April 27 broadcast, the half hours of โLetโs Make a Dealโ saw across the board year-over-year gains, with the second half-hour up +0.07 among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.17 rating), up +0.03 among Women 25-54 (0.33 rating vs. 0.30 rating), and up an astonishing +416,000 viewers (2.559 million vs. 2.143 million). The first half-hour was up +0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.17 rating vs. 0.16 rating) and up +119,000 viewers (2.002 million vs. 1.883 million).
โThe Bold and the Beautifulโ (2.795 million) ranked No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49 (0.26 rating) for the 20th in 32 weeks, including ties, and was up +0.01 week-to-week and +0.02 year-over-year in the demo. It was also up +0.01 week-to-week among Women 25-54 (0.39 rating), and just shy of tying โThe Young and the Restlessโ (0.40 rating). Among Total Viewers, the half-hour drama series was up +38,000 week-to-week (vs. 2.757 million) and a staggering +398,000 year-over-year (vs. 2.397 million).
Though it placed second among soaps in Women 18-49 (0.25 rating), โThe Young and the Restlessโ (3.143 million) was up +0.01 week-to-week and flat with its year-ago performance (0.25 rating). Among Total Viewers, the long-running drama series was up +20,000 week-to-week (vs. 3.123 million) and up +299,000 year-over-year (vs. 2.844 million).
Excluding the week of September 29 โ October 3, 2025, which saw ABC factor in repeat broadcasts of the daytime drama despite the soap opera being preempted in most markets due to Major League Baseball Wild Card Series game coverage on the network, โGeneral Hospitalโ (1.809 million) set a new season and series low among Women 25-54 (0.20 rating), and attracted its third smallest audience of the season, down 168,000 viewers week-to-week (vs. 1.977 million). On the positive side, the long-running series was up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating vs. 0.16 rating), and up +39,000 viewers year-over-year (vs. 1.770 million).
Flat with its week-ago performance among Women 18-49 (0.15 rating), โBeyond the Gatesโ (1.655 million) saw week-to-week and year-over-year gains among Total Viewers, up +42,000 (vs. 1.613 million) and +167,000 (vs. 1.488 million), respectively, despite being preempted for UEFA Champions League coverage on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29. The soap opera marked its eighth consecutive week of year-over-year gains among Total Viewers, and its largest overall to date.
โThe Price is Right,โ which was the only CBS daytime series not impacted by UEFA Champions League coverage coast-to-coast, continued to lead across every category, though both half hours saw minor week-to-week declines in the key demos. Among Total Viewers, the second half-hour (4.377 million) was up +83,000 week-to-week and a massive +560,000 year-over-year. The first half-hour (3.859 million) was up +62,000 viewers week-to-week and an amazing +512,000 year-over-year. Compared to their performance during the same week in 2024, both half hours continue to impress, with the second half-hour up +218,000 viewers (4.377 million vs. 4.159 million) and the first half-hour up +290,000 viewers (3.859 million vs. 3.569 million).
