Episode 3 was really a waste of time. The Bo heaven scenes are terrible and shouldn't have been on  BS2.  All the Bo scenes could've been used on other characters.

So Joey and Tripp went to Hong Kong to find their dad? Ok whatever...they did look hot shirtless especially Tripp but that's about it.

ED continues to be a hoot!

Paul and Andrew. Their cliche scenes today were cute yet eye rolling from the I can't make a tie to Paul looking at Andrew with so much thirst to them sharing a room. Why bring on two characters and write their development so slow when they won't be on the main show. Are Andrew and Paul showing up on the main show? I'm sure we'll get a lousy ending with them.

So Hope got married in heaven? Isn't that the same set used for Abe when he died and reunited with Lexi?

The sets on BS2 look so cheap and most if not all reused from BS1. I guess the budget is low again. Did Peacock not supply the $$$$$??

And what the f u c k time is it in Hong Kong??

Wasn't it night when Paul and Andrew arrived? Gabi was in a nightgown.  Few scenes later Paul and Andrew were getting reading for the gala. Was the gala the same night they arrived? Why would Gabi be in a nightgown if she was going to the gala?

I think the inference was that Gabi was getting ready for the Gala before she and Shin had sex.  It looked like something someone would get ready in before putting their full dress and makeup on even though it was lingerie.  Like brides wear before their wedding.  So it was night, but not time for sleeping.  Just sex lol.

The only thing I ever remembered about Megan was her amazing permed hair.  I can say I was disappointed when she showed up with a much more sensible do the other day.

I can see that happening. We got lucky with Zach Tinker, maybe we'll have the same luck next year. Paul and Andrew are good together and bringing them on could actually lead to a good, non-Leo storyline for Will and Sonny.

It should be the other way around. The guy with no experience should be taking tips from the guy with expericne lol

It also doesn't help that they are nostalgic for a very specific period of DAYS history; which was arguably not its best.  They tend to like the supercouple era as opposed to the more melodramatic stories by Bill Bell.  We get all of the 1980s references of Renee and Megan, but I would bet we'll never see a salute to Linda Phillips, Susan Martin, or Amanda Howard.  For lack of a better term, it feels masturbatory to write fan fiction based mostly of work created by Thom Racina, without any modern take on the stories.

I mean how would a modern character feel about her father having kids with dozens of different women, without supporting them or helping with childcare?  And how would a contemporary person react to their father's will that demanded that they be married and have a child in order to gain an inheritance?   Just resurrecting people for the purpose of seeming clever is not good writing, if they have no creative purpose to exist in 2022.

To me the webisodes bring back memories of the primetime movies that DAYS and AW produced to coincide with the summer daytime award shows, but very little of that period is ever referenced.

I know that I'm quoting it and I don't want him to be here.......but why would you bring Alan Sarapa here? He's the LAST place I'd go to for soap opinions.

Not a fan of Jamey. I'd like to enjoy Beyond Salem2, but so far, I don't. Maybe tomorrow.

    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing. I was also wondering what preempted Dallas and Falcon Crest.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.

    • Lol.  I love that this board still allows misinformation from a bad source.
    • Thanks @kalbir what a time to have enjoyed the peak of the primetime soaps. Haha you’re good. The only complaint I have with Lorraine’s death as I mentioned recently in the FC thread was it was overkill, and all we got Apollonia. If a pregnant woman had to be killed off, I would’ve chosen just killing off Robin instead in some freak accident or in the explosion at Richard’s to save us from us that disaster lol.    Did Hotel have a cliffhanger that year? I imagine if Hotel had been soapier we would’ve had cliffhangers like the hotel catching on fire or bombed by an ex-lover of Christine. Peter pisses everyone off and is shot in his office. Or a major Golden age star like a Olivia de Havilland shows and tells how she originally owned the Hotel and how Victoria Cabot & Laura Trent stole it from her but now she owns it etc.
    • The whole AMC 2.0 pulled it together in mere weeks to get a show up and running, with scripts and a cast.

Ginger Smith seemed really passionate about being in the executive producer position, and I think she really did a fantastic job in six weeks. It was just well done.
    • I totally didn’t pick up on that. Just perfect! I don’t get the Maurice Johnson hate around here at all. He didn’t take me out of the scenes at all. I understood everything he was portraying. It was great. I do wonder if there will be a personality shift with the new actor, whom I’m still not excited about. Exactly. Right? I’m in the exact same boat as you. Agree with most of this except I never found anything off with Ted, didn’t suspect a thing. I just watched yesterday’s episode and it was one of the best soap episodes I’ve seen in a very long time. I was enthralled the entire time. Just fantastic.
