Ha... I love ice cold Van...she is the natural successor to BevAlex..but they never would let her go "full powerful cold bitch matriarch" which they should have. And for once, someone in the soap press protects journalistic ethics and goes ahead to report what happens. I know it's a plot point to set somehting else up, but good for Van...plus, if every soap journalist refused to not report something because they know that person, there would be nothing in the paper but ads. By the way, how does Van own WSPR????
Jill Hurst said that the Beth/Matt thing was to take advantage of what they thought was the chemistry between the two, but it was never intended to go through, which was a major problem with soaps at this time, TPTB didn't have the balls enough to go against the fanwhackos so no storyline had an consequences. The Matt/Beth think actually would make sense if written well, without the ageism and giving Beth some motivation other then being a hungry hobag..it could be a triangle with no villains. With this and the Ross/Blake thing going on, it was the perfect time to get Van and Ross together, both spending time over the crazy daughter and dumping their younger partners. Why have Ross screw a nobody?
I know people hate it but I love the Stalker story and Holly going over the edge..they needed to have Ed come and pull her off the bridge, not once again Reva sainvg the day.
