On the Monday, April 18 episode of “The Talk,” actors Susan Walters and Peter Bergman from “The Young and the Restless” appeared, talking about the recent revelation of Diane Jenkins (played by Walters) being alive.

In addition to Walters and Bergman sharing some tidbits about what’s to come and how the storyline came about, co-host Natalie Morales let it slip that fans can expect to see Michael Mealor back as Kyle Abbott, son of Diane and Jack Abbott (Bergman), beginning Monday, April 25.

When Morales asked how the story will play out with Kyle learning his mother is alive, Bergman responded, saying, “I think that is probably central to my joy in Susan coming back. The fellow that plays my son, Michael Mealor, is a brilliant young actor, he’s terrific! He and I are probably not going to see eye to eye on the best way to handle this thing (referring to Diane). I think there is going to be a lot of tension there.”

During Bergman’s comments, Morales said, “He’s back on Monday, I hear, right?” referring to the Monday, April 25 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” Until today’s appearance on “The Talk,” Mealor’s return date had not been officially announced.

Last month, it was revealed Mealor had signed a long-term contract with the daytime drama series after leaving the series last August. “Of course, I’ll always be back when they call,” Mealor told to Digest last year, citing his love for the show and working with the people he’s worked alongside all these years.

Making his “Y&R” debut in 2018, Mealor most recently appeared in an episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” for FXX.
