ARTICLE: James Patrick Stuart Back to ‘General Hospital’ After Taking Break to Film New Disney Series

After taking time off to film his new Disney Channel original series, “The Villains of Valley View,” “General Hospital” star James Patrick Stuart is back on the set of the daytime drama series filming scenes as Valentin Cassadine.

“Blessed to be back on the ‘General Hospital’ stage this week,” shared Stuart on Twitter this morning. “LOVE that place. Amazing and gracious people who achieve the impossible all day long.” He tagged co-stars Finola Hughes, Cynthia Watros and Nancy Lee Grahn in his post, likely indicating who he’ll be sharing scenes with when he pops back on screen in a few weeks. He also tagged the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini.

​​Last month, Stuart announced he had filmed up to least eight episodes of the Disney series which will release worldwide this summer on both the linear Disney Channel network and the Disney+ streaming service. “Missing ‘GH’ very much and happy to report Valentin will be back in March,” he wrote at the time.

Originally optioned under the title of “Meet the Mayhems,” the retitled “Villains of Valley View” is about a family of raucous supervillains who recently ran afoul of the League of Villains and now must somehow beat a path to normalcy in a small Texas town. Stuart plays the suburbanite role of Vic while his alter ego goes by the name Kraniac.

Created by Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore, the series also stars Isabella Pappas (“Finding Alice”) as Amy/Havoc, Lucy Davis (“Wonder Woman”) as Eva/Surge, Malachi Barton (Disney Channel’s “Stuck in the Middle”) as Colby/Flashform, Reed Horstmann (“The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia”) as Jake/Chaos and newcomer Kayden Muller-Janssen as Hartley. Patricia Belcher (“The Week of”) recurs as Celia.
