Do you know "King's Crossing" ? It was an American nighttime soap opera which aired on ABC from January 16 to February 27, 1982 on Saturday night at 8:00pm for seven episodes.
Cast : Bradford Dillman, Mary Frann, Linda Hamilton...

The troubled Hollister family retreats to a small California town. But life doesn't get any easier as Paul's alcohol abuse puts a strain on his marriage to Nan, and teen daughters Lauren (Linda Hamilton) and Carey get entangled in romances.

I watched King's Crossing and have been trying in vain for decades to see the episodes again (as well as its predecessor Secrets Of Midland Heights) but have had no luck.  Can't even find the opening credits anywhere.  The only thing I've ever found are these few promos online.

Edit:  I stand corrected.  Someone posted the opening credits on youtube!

Kings Crossing debuted on a night when NBC had one of the lowest rating nights in recent network history at that time.

But it was CBS that took advantage airing Disney 'Tales of the Apple Dumpling Gang' at 8 and ranking 10th for the week (23.6/37)

And its movie 'Help Wanted Male' ranked 3rd (28.6/47)

NBC aired 2 specials Alice at the Palace (with Meryl Streep) 5.2/8 ranking 69th and 'Caruso Remembered' 3.3/5 70th and lowest ranked for the week.

In the middle was the 90 min Kings Crossing premiere on ABC 17.1/27 and a 90 min Fantasy Island rpt 16.3/27

So not a bad sampling but viewers were not interested and the ratings fell each week.

ABC had a history of poor performance in that timeslot despite Love Boat and Fantasy Island dominating the 9 and 10pm timeslots.

They had better luck with Kings Crossings replacement TJ Hooker.

Speaking of Daniel, you probably already know this, but he's on Instagram. He still looks good, just older. He posted a cast photo for Midland Heights a few months ago.

If any of you know how to communicate on Instagram maybe we can get him to do an interview.

    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
    • I loved SOAP OPERA NOW because they  did detailed analysis of the ratings.
    • I love MKA and feel like they never used her to her full potential with India. The character seemed to exist merely to fight with Alex and blackmail men into marrying/sleeping with her. As if! Then adopting an orphan right out of Little Orphan Annie...somebody BTS didn't like her, I think.
    • I mean...Sarah Michelle Gellar did go on to be a household name and food guru. I can see Ambyr doing the same with the same talent.  Amen.
