Massive icons like Aretha Franklin or Donna Summer will certainly continue to get their own threads when they pass, but I figured it might be worth having a place to honor lesser-known celebrities who have left us, especially because we can’t see status updates (which is where a lot of those announcements were made on here previously).

Now I hope those that were slamming the cast [not here!] for not running to social media the minute Matthew died will leave them the hell alone to grieve the loss of their friend, no pun intended.

The whole culture of expecting everyone to make their grief public on social media is just gross.

A postscript to his biography: Apparently, Diaz has a daytime/soap opera connection. His widow Shawn Callaghan Diaz was a set decorator for the program Captain Kangaroo and the daytime dramas As The World Turns and Guiding Light. 

Surprised it hasn't been shared here already, but AMC's Peter White, who of course is also known for his role in The Boys in the Band, has died. I really wish these news sites would stop running to IMDb and using it as a source, because Peter White was not on AMC for no 30 damn years.

RIP Peter White d. Nov. 1, 2023 (86) (melanoma) AMC Linc Tyler, Phoebe's son, romance with Kitty & Kelly. LIAMST Dr. Sanford Hiller, Secret Storm, FC, DYN, KL, DAL, Sisters, LA Law, Colbys. Also played the straight man in the original of THE BOYS IN THE BAND.

It was mentioned in the soap hoppers thread but I was waiting for official confirmation. Very sad. He was a beautiful man, along with being a very good actor. I have only seen fragments of his work on AMC, but he was excellent in Boys in the Band, in a very difficult part.
