Beyond the ethics of crossing a picket line, it feels like most daytime talk shows are not well-equipped to function without actors as guests and writers creating segments.

Kelly & Mark have taken to doing mostly cooking, shopping, and exercise segments.  They have 3-4 reality show stars a week with variable success depending on the charm of the subjects.  But, they can rely on their banter to get through the first 20 minutes of each episode.

JHud has shown us that she lacks the ability to be extemporaneous.  And it would be difficult to believe that Drew & The Talk were discussing cultural Hot Topics without writers.  I mean, The View can discuss the headlines.  But, someone, usually a writer, has to find the types of quirky human interest and viral cultural moments that occupy Drew and The Talk.
