Breaking news on CNN & MSNBC.....

The shooter is dead. It’s very strange that the incident isn’t trending on Twitter, and many other people have noticed the same thing.

It was under "San Bruno" and now is under "YouTube HQ".

I see it now, thanks. It took a long time.

At first, it seemed to be all over the place with conflicting eye-witness reports.

The information is now becoming clearer and coming into focus.

That may be a good thing. 

Perhaps, due to past incidents of a lot of wrong information, rumor, etc being tweeted out in the past, people may be more cautious now.

True. It was just unusual. With Parkland, it was nearly instantaneous. I wish Twitter would show more editorial restraint with other topics.

How awful. It's pointless to speculate but there's been a lot of heated rhetoric against Youtube this year.

It's being referred to as a "domestic situation". 

 

 ETA.  So, apparently, it's NOT a "domestic situation". It's now being alleged that she didn't know anyone at the You Tube HQ-- how did she get into the building???

The shooter is being described as having been angry at her You Tube videos supposedly being pulled and censored?  WTH!

I do think it’s good to have a bit of lag time before things start trending. Twitter did have the incident highlighted as a “moment” but not in the trending module.

 

 

There are at least 159,000 tweets related to the You Tube HQ shooting.

 

It depends on where you are located.  Some regions trended earlier than others.  Twitter trends are not universal.
