Members Taoboi
@Faulkner, yeah. My BFF knows me so well, he immediately messaged me a second after I saw it. I was a basketcase in junior high and 'Linger' got me through the dark periods of that time. Still in shock.
Members Vee
I grew up listening to them. For some reason I had a premonition on this one a week or two ago, because I was working on a project where a lot of the music of my childhood figured heavily and a fair bit of Cranberries was in the mix. I knew she'd had hard times since their heyday. So sad.

Members Faulkner
An interesting take on why the Cranberries weren't quite as embraced in the UK: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/jan/15/dolores-oriordan-anguished-90s-icon-whose-voice-lingers-on-the-cranberries#comments

Members Faulkner
A very good appraisal of Dolores, her place in '90s rock, and how she compared to her countrywoman Sinead O'Connor: https://www.stereogum.com/1978553/dolores-oriordans-voice-was-an-unmistakable-light-in-the-time-of-grunge/franchises/sounding-board/

Members DramatistDreamer
God, that is so sad. There is so much emphasis on abuse of drugs like heroin and fentanyl that people forget how many people die from alcohol poisoning and there is a history of talented female musicians that have died from alcohol poisoning (Amy Winehouse is one of the most recent ones that come to mind). It wasn't until she passed away, that I remembered how much I associate O'Riordan's voice with 90s nostalgia (in a good and poignant way).
