Yes. She was Myrtle's niece, a vixen. She was supposed to be campy and naughty and so on, which Genie can't play, even though Genie has spent decades trying to convince people she can play this. 

 

Ceara Connor was a very boring character and her child sex abuse story was awful. Ceara was paired with the equally boring Jeremy Hunter. I remember in the beginning she was a bad girl and then became a dull girl Ceara even crossed paths with Erica.

Ceara's mother, Claudia was played by Bethel Leslie and her father was Steven Joyce, who was on almost every NY soap.  Ceara was a mess, and they didn't know what to do with her. They tried a rivalry w/ Erica, which was pathetic. The "romance" w/David Rampal( Trent Bushey),  was a waste of time as he was good looking, but boring AF... She finally achieved happiness w/Jeremy and died on their way to Corinth...

Yeah I mostly watched the early stuff, when she was living at the boarding house, trying to figure out which man to land, vamping Jackson at a cookout, the silliness with Erica in her office. It just sort of made me cringe. I never saw the more serious material, which Genie was unhappy with. 

Someone once mentioned there were flashbacks to Ceara's childhood with Genie in pigtails.  

 

Everything about this character sounded really bad, and per Genie, Agnes Nixon was very involved in the character's development.

I honestly didn't find Ceara that bad...but I never found her that good either. 

I don't think it was bad bad bad, I just thought it was badly grafted on and totally unsuited to her as an actress, made even worse because I think she really believed it was great stuff.
