October 7, 201411 yr Member Tony Award winner Marian Sedles has died at 86 years old. On daytime she has appeared on Loving from 1994-95. Marian was also on GL in 1998 but is probably most remembered to OLTL fans as Dorian's mother, Sonya from 1997-1998 http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Tony-Winner-Marian-Seldes-Passes-Away-at-86-20141006
October 7, 201411 yr Member Sorry to hear that. I just saw that she was Mr. Big's mother on SATC. I mostly remember her being given the typical TV "crazy hair" as Dorian's mother. That whole story was so rushed at the end.

I barely remember her face in that. l remember her from Broadway: The Golden Age. Great doco and hopefully if the sequel is ever released she will be a part of that too. Always sad to lose a theatre actor (They always live to very old ages, must be something to that) and soap actor, RIP Marian.
October 7, 201411 yr Member I'm not even going to say who I originally thought this thread was about...
October 7, 201411 yr Member I got a chance to see Ms. Seldes in two plays when I was a student and she was utterly luminescent. The stage was really the place where she shined the greatest. I'll always have that memory of seeing her stand tall center stage bathed in light. She will be missed.
October 9, 201411 yr Member IIRC, Harding Lemay revealed in his interview with WOST's Brian that he wanted Marian Seldes to join ANOTHER WORLD in '88 and be the antagonist in his planned story about human trafficking. I don't know whether that idea would have worked at all, but I think it might have been nice to see her as the matriarch of a wealthy family on one soap or another. RIP, Ms, Seldes, your presence will be missed.
