I do however remember staying up late a couple of times one summer when I was about 10 (81? 82?) and seeing it around midnight and totally captivated ... and confused. I couldn't figure out what a soap opera was doing on at that strange hour.

The St. Louis ABC affiliate moved it to after Nightline and one night I was crashed on the couch and wasn't paying attention until the theme came on. I was hooked until the end. I wish pre-1979 episodes were available. Oh, I guess it's no surprise who I would pick in this category!
October 4, 201312 yr Member Lovers and Friends/For Richer For Poorer top my list. Me too. I was just thinking about this show when we were discussing Paley in another thread. They have a couple of episodes of both incarnations in the collection.
October 4, 201312 yr Member I think I could have really gotten into classic P&G soaps, especially ATWT and AW in their heyday. Also, OLTL - social issues and good family story telling.
