Those are good points. The cast did get considerably smaller when they moved to TV and it was pretty much just the Bauers at the Bauers household for a large portion of the episodes. Definitely cut down cost and trouble of actors and sets. The early years of the radio show had a slew of characters. Almost too many. There were so many characters in that first year that it was hard to keep everybody straight. And, in radio, characters were all over the place but, with radio, you didn't have to worry about building all those sets.
