I feel like such an old fogie for saying I love Matlock. But, damn. That show was the bomb.

I never liked The Andy Griffith show. But, I grew up watching Matlock. My dad was into it. So, I got into it. Re-discovered my love of the show back in 2011. I must be the only twentysomething Matlock fan in the world.

My favorite character was Cliff, btw. I adored him. :D

He was a cute wacky idiot lawyer. Cliff was [!@#$%^&*] awesome.

So, any other Matlock fans here?

Oh God, the Matlock theme is one of the best EVER. I remember going to my grandmother's house in the summer as a kid--doing this at 13 sticks out to me the most--and getting to sit in her bedroom and watch TV there, and Matlock would be on in the morning and it would be enough for me to watch for the theme alone. One of my favorites. That's also how I began watching The Golden Girls, too (The Lifetime years--THOSE were the days. biggrin.png).

And you would not BELIEVE how many hip-hop remixes there are of the theme on YouTube. Here's another example:

You're killing me on the lack of TAGS love though, Selena. I started watching that show practically from the moment I left the womb! laugh.png

I really like Matlock as well. There was a similar show--which I believe had the same creators--called Diagnosis Murder which I liked even more. It starred Dick Van Dyke and Victoria Rowell. Van Dyke played Dr. Mark Sloan, who also is a consultant for the police department. He often solved murder cases with the help of his son (a policeman), who was actually portrayed by Van Dyke's real life son.
