Members KMan101
Agreed. They also made sure to point out they have the financing. I'm fairly confident we're finally going to get somewhere with this. If it falls apart, it falls apart.

Members Vee
I'd believe that if I heard third-party confirmation on a) solid financing, a real WGA deal and c) actual physical production. At this point, until I see the thing on my Internet connection, it don't exist. I'd sooner believe in Bigfoot. IIRC, they said they had financing last time too. Webmaster Errol Posted January 7, 2013 Webmaster Share Posted January 7, 2013 They need to update their shitty website and maybe I'll feel like there's something worth watching besides YouTube postings, lol. Just saying. So far this at least puts to rest those Hulu rumors.
Members Vee
Is their website still just the logo of the tree from Generations?
Webmaster Errol Posted January 7, 2013 Webmaster Share Posted January 7, 2013 You mean their company logo? Yeah, that's the Prospect Park logo still. However, I'm referring to the TOLN "logo." It's something anyone can create in their free paint program.
Members SFK
Understood. Hundreds of completed projects never see the light of day. Once burned, twice shy is completely understandable. But oy, at this point I wonder if Prospect Park would risk that much egg on their faces.
Members Vee
From what we'd heard of Jeff Kwisatzhaderach - or whatever his name is - Kwatinetz? - I believe he might just to hold onto the rights. Squeezing GH for the OLTL fees is a source of revenue. I realize calling him the Kwisatz Haderach was juvenile but I don't care. I'm hungry. Members John
My thoughts on #PP & #WGA. I think #PP will hire Fi-core writers to write #AMC & #OLTL at first so they can be in production by March as Debbi Morgan says. I also think they will continue the WGA talks & when that is final hire someone within WGA to take over as HW for the soaps. Its not like this hasnt been done before. Werent Tyler Perry's TV shows non union for a while & they got union deals later. I know Tyler Perry is not a daily soap, But I believe they will have WGA deal eventually

Webmaster Errol Posted January 7, 2013 Webmaster Share Posted January 7, 2013 TOLN/Prospect Park can hire fi-core writers as head writers with or without future WGA involvement. As we know, Maria Arena Bell, Hogan Sheffer, Garin Wolf, Kay Alden and several other writers went fi-core during the WGA strike and continued writing for their respective shows. They do not have to hire non-fi-core writers as HW's of their shows if they do come to an agreement with the WGA.
Members SFK
Honestly, I was thinking the EPs would sort of dictate storylines and have Fi-core writers churn 'em out until they got WGA writers. Which makes me nervous. And I think you're right about TP. I don't recall all of the details, but his relationship with his writers was not a good one from what I've read. I think they complained of being not just underpaid but UNpaid and they took a united front against him. I think he ended up firing and replacing the lot of them. Members Vee
I frankly don't find the Tyler Perry Industrial Combine to be a production or business model to be emulated, outside of North Korea or the nineteenth century.
Members SFK
BTW, I don't mean to imply that non-union writers atomatically=suck. I have too many talented non-union actor friends who get unfairly slighted. But I sense that they would ideally have WGA writers at the helm. Webmaster Errol Posted January 7, 2013 Webmaster Share Posted January 7, 2013 The difference between Tyler Perry and fi-core writers is that Tyler Perry's writers weren't WGA enlisted writers. They had to fight to be represented by the union. Fi-core writers are still members of the WGA with no voting rights. They still get representation by the WGA.
