HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

THis is so true...

Foz kind of alludes to the fact that PP may be a sh!tty/disrespectful place. Yes, he's disgruntled. But doesn't this #GH move support idea?

Sounds like SOD doesn't really know anything for certain:

The legal skirmish between ABC and Prospect Park has resulted in the mandatory exits, at least for now, of Llanview transplants Michael Easton (John), Roger Howarth (Todd) and Kristen Alderson (Starr). Easton confirmed his departure in a Facebook post, saying, "I've been informed, that due to some ongoing legal this and that, I cannot be at 'General Hospital' after February 8th." A GH spokesperson says, "GENERAL HOSPITAL is excited about Michael Easton, Kristen Alderson and Roger Howarth staying on the show and we are exploring ways to allow that to happen." The characters are expected to air through March, and sources say that the show hopes to resume use of all three performers, who are under contract to ABC (not to Prospect Park), likely as different characters. PP, meanwhile, is said to intend to recast the roles of Starr, John and Todd for its OLTL reboot. Said Alderson on Twitter, "Thank you for all of your sweet responses to the recent madness. Nothing yet to report! Praying for positive answers."

I was just told that the "Foz" was allegedly as much of a jerk as anyone else. With him I'd be inclined to argue sour grapes.

That SOD report is a whole lot of nothing. And the fact is, yes, ABC may own them, but they licensed the characters to Prospect. Prospect has those rights. So this is not so simple.

Recasting Todd is not something that can be done, period. The other two would be pushing it but doable, But Todd is literally impossible to do successfully at this point.

I don't know....it was done before (and yes I know that it turns out he wasn't really Todd there at end but still).

I don't consider that successful cause it was clear from day 1 TSJ had no interest in playing Todd, but in name only

I agree AlexisFan, I think Starr is the same too given KA grew up in the role, it'd be like GH recasting Robin

Yea but many would argue KA could've been recast during her tenure due to acting issues lol. But yea, I agree for the most part. Starr's story was over anyway, GH should've left it alone. Just say Cole and Hope were being held by Allison Perkins or Heather, send Starr off to them and be done with it. PP leaves Starr alone and GH can bring KA on as Serena or whatever, end of story. I don't want any of the OLTL three's stories messed up any further.

It's pure stupidity, Todd is nothing without RH, KA is too well known as Starr(and RH as Todd) for recasts to work or for them to play other characters on GH. John could be recast, but I don't think it would go over well either.

none of these actors signed the first time around, they shouldn't be expected too this time around either

I'm of the opinion that McBain would be missed the least on the Llanview canvas, so if this thing actually gets off the ground - my advice for them is to simply consider him not a part of the new OLTL.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I don't actually care which way this goes because I don't like "GH" and I really don't care for any of the three OLTL characters anymore....particularly John McBain.

I knew PP would make me wish once again they'd left AMC/OLTL alone. I have a feeling alot of others will feel the same when all is said and done

I just realized, Howarth has been on GH as Todd way longer than he was back on OLTL at the end. That shiet ain't right lol.
