Does Anyone Care About Lance Armstrong?

The only human moment I saw from him was when he talking about his kids. Lance can rot in hell.

I actually thought he was lying when he was telling Oprah that he told his kids not to defend him anymore. I doubt that he has even spoken to his kids about the situation.

In some ways, I do feel bad for the guy because I don't think he'll ever be able to repair his reputation.

I don't care about this at all, but I have to ask, why would you waste sympathy on this guy? He has been riding the high hog by lying, cheating and stealing. People work hard and they lose to a despicable person like this? I don't follow any of it, but I'm reading Ann's comments, and I'm left scratching my head with what you just said.

Salvaging a reputation is for someone who has been wronged, not a wrong doer. He deserves to go down in history with the reputation he has. It's bad enough to cheat, but the way he went about it and the cover ups that ensued. Ridiculous. Why should people honestly work hard when they have to compete against trash like this?

Because I'm a total sucker. laugh.png At least I can proudly say that I've never owned or worn a yellow bracelet.

I have compassion for him as regards his personal journey with cancer and the contributions he made to fight it (even if I happen to think that the charity was not entirely about his being selfless).

Yesterday I was put off by Stuart Scott (ESPN) essentially saying that people who were not personally harmed by Lance Armstrong and that do not know him, have no right to be unforgiving towards him. As a member of the media and more specifically the ESPN spin machine, he does he best to convince viewers who to see as great. I understand that he's friends with Lance Armstrong and that his only personal fight against cancer gives him a different perspective than those on the outside. The fact is that they have just as much of a right to their feelings as does he.

I don't need to forgive him for anything because he did nothing to me. However, that doesn't mean that I have to put the blinders on and pretend that he's a really nice guy. He has shown for over a decade that he's not a nice guy. He's a terrible person that did some great things. I don't see why it's so hard for people to accept that everyone doesn't have to see things a certain way for them to be entitled to their feelings.
