According to an interview with the New York Post, Sharon Osbourne explains the reason she is quitting America's Got Talent because NBC fired Jack Osbourne from a reality show shortly after he explained his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, even after he offered to buy his own life and medical insurance.

Yet another blunder by NBC who have called this scenario all wrong, Sharon's right, they could have sold Jack as "doing the impossible" or however else you want to spin someone with MS doing military exercises.

I can see why she quit, after they treated Jack that way, but I wonder if this is going to hurt their income a lot, which Jack will need to help pay for his expenses. I thought she was very well paid for AGT.

Was this going to be a highly physical show? In that case I can sort of understand NBC's reasons, but if he did agree to pay his own way, they should have accepted.

But here's the thing... MS is something that can affect coordination, and he could be seriously injured if it's something intensely physical. And not just that, if these physical challenges involve teams or partners, then there is possibility of him causing injury to someone else.... they did say that the show involves challenges with live ammunition, and with that.. MS is definately an issue. And Jack has GOT to be having significant symptoms, because those are almost always present with people who have been diagnosed. They did say they offered him alternate roles on the show, but he refused. I think NBC did the safe and reasonable thing, it's not like they were keeping him from Celebrity apprentice.. this is very PHYSICAL show. I honestly think Jack is being selfish wanting to be on it, when he'd be putting others and himself at risk.

EDIT: I just did some more research, and found that he had been having numbness in his legs and partial blindness, among other things.. NBC did the right thing, IMO. It's sad and tragic... but I think Sharon needs to accept it, and realize that he has to work within his limitations.

Add me to the group that is on NBC's side on this. I think Jack and Sharon are being unreasonable. They offered him other positions. Jack has a serious disease that affects the mobility of his entire body and his eyesight (things that would be essential in a competition show like that) and I think it showed sensitivity on NBC's part to not exploit him and that disease for potential ratings.

It's like putting Michael J. Fox on a show where you get body blows for stuttering. They're not discriminating against him. They're doing the right thing. Hopefully both Jack and Sharon calm the bleep down and see that with a little more time. I know this is especially fresh for Sharon as she's still falling to pieces wheneve she talks about Jack's condition. I had an MS scare recently - I've been having MS like issues since getting my first two shots for Hepatitis B - so it hits close to home and I really do feel for both of them.

    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.

    • I started a separate thread for the same tribute, but of course it can be discussed wherever. doesn't matter where. Fyi  Jason Cook, Staci Greason, and Eileen Davidson will be there as well as Reckell and some of the current cast Thread for Live tribute to Drake https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn
    • Seeing Nicole and Martin together reminds me of watching Alice with Mickey Horton in the 90s and 00s. The seem more like peers than mother and son.  The younger half of the cast (35ish and below) is playing younger, and the older half (35+) is playing older.
