Members alphanguy74
I haven't used them in forever because they seemed to irritate me and bother me to some degree, but this was also 25 years ago, and they were old fashioned soft lenses you kept for 6 months and cleaned them over and over again. I've been reading that daily wear disposables are more comfortable for alot of people, and I figured they've probably made advancements in contact lenses since 1987, so I figured I might give them another try... any of you have experience on what types you like and what you don't? Members DaytimeFan
Oh definitely give them another shot, I wear contact lenses and they've changed by light years since you first wore them. I wear monthly disposable lenses by CooperVision (I believe they're a UK company), lots of friends like 02 Optics...always get samples from your eye specialist or doctor of optometry and see what you like. I literally don't even know I am wearing them. Cannot feel them, they don't shift around, rarely irritate...easy breezy. Cleaning them is so easy, the rinses and cases they have now are effortless, you fill the case, put them in and let them soak overnight. If you go for daily disposables you won't even need to clean them. Overall, go for it. Try them. I hate glasses and am too chicken to go the laser route, contacts are wonderful. Members Cheap21
I use 2 week lenses. Love them and I think they are much better than anything meant for longer or shorter
Members alphanguy74
Thanks for all the advice! I think I'll give them another try, the idea of them letting in much more oxygen that those of the past is what really interested me,
Members DaytimeFan
They're just night and day different. What was a "soft" lens in 1987 is hard as a rock today. Try a few brands if you don't like your first sample, there's lots of choice and plenty of different cleaning solutions.
Members MissLlanviewPA
I use Acuvue lenses--monthly ones (mine are for astigmatism, though, as mine is pretty bad--and my left eye is worse than my right one--at least I think it's in that order). But yeah, I'd say they're pretty soft, although sometimes I'd like to have ones that could be used more frequently.
