I have to look into that because several parents that I know have multiple locks on their door for security reasons and I am sure none of their toddler children know how to work the locks. I also know that in a lot of apartment buildings there are chain locks on all the doors and window guards.

I apologize for my contribution, I wasn't aware that this was such a touchy topic and truthfully my responses had less to due with the character of Liz and the real situations that occurs with childhood accidents. I work in an emergency room that serves both adult and peds and you would not believe the amount of kids we treat because of accidents in the home and out burns, cuts, falls, etc. Its all good and well to say you can't watch your child 24/7 but tell that to the five year old who is spending time in the burn unit because he pulled down a pot of boiling oil because the parent went to the bathroom/answered the door/phone/etc when all he/she had to do was move the pot to the back burner out of the child's reach. 90% of accidents are preventable and all it takes is some extra precautions, that is all I'm saying.

That's the reality of most accidents. We get busy, we're preoccupied, we're in a hurry and we do something stupid. It's even more true for parents, since they're more likely to be rushing around trying to get things done. I don't know when it happened that suddenly the public thinks it has a right to place blame or decide guilt or innocence, but we rarely have all of the information when we're making those judgments.

My input is in relation to the situation as well. I'm indifferent to Liz. There is no way a child on the road at night alone would have gone unnoticed by the police or CPS. No way.

Pssssst. I'll share a little secret with you. You can bash LW, KSu, Kemo, etc til the cows come home, but the CHARACTER Liz is off limits. That's the only time it gets really ugly and "there's a problem with SON". Our little secret - not a word to anyone :)

Thank you. While I cannot claim to be an Elizabeth fan and I don't begrudge anyone their hatred of her or any other character, I think it's over the top. I realize that people hate her for seemingly breaking up their idyllic Jason and Sam greatest love story ever and some Lucky lovers see her as ruining the GV version, and now she's the worst mother of all time but it is a bit much no matter how it all started again. I was tired of hearing about how "skanky Liz" during that tiresome we can't be together because it's dangerous for Jake s/l. Jake was killed for Jason and Sam so I don't need to read or hear anything about how Elizabeth is a terrible mother.

RH has been unfairly treated in terms of s/l for years and a character with soap heroine potential has been sacrificed on the altar of Jason and Sam because of it.

The police didn't notice the drunk driver, so why would they have noticed a child?

I'm a bit curious what you consider a "bash"? Do you consider criticizing acting to be a bash? That's the only thing I can think of that LW, KSu and KeMo have in common: bad acting.

But the police would want to know where the mother was during the accident. Or are we saying that is not important. Forget about Liz for a second and ask yourself how that would have gone down IRL. The mother would have been lucky if the other 2 children were not removed from the home.

Saying someone cannot act is not bashing, so that's not what I'm talking about. That's an opinion that, at the end of the day, nobody cares about. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Um, this is a country where people ask why weren't the child remove from the parents house when a child ended up dead or critical injure from abusive parents (when cases like this make the news) so I doubt that irl CPS would have removed children from the parent house b/c their sibling got hit by a drunk driver.
