The Hatfields & McCoys feud ended with a massive bang on Wednesday night, surpassing the record the History miniseries set on Night 1 by drawing 14.3 million total viewers, making it the most-watched entertainment telecast in ad-supported cable history.

Across all three nights, Hatfields & McCoys averaged 13.8 million total viewers, with 4.9 mil falling into the coveted 18-49 demo. What’s more, the finale’s 6.3 million viewers in the 25-54 range marks a 14-year high for ad-supported cable.

I wanna thank you guys/gals for leading me to this mini-series. Last week, when I'd peruse the front page topics onof the Community forum, I'd notice the topic of this thread but never actually came in here, but Saturday I decided to check out the history channel and try to watch. Luckily, they'd scheduled a back-to-back marathon, so I recorded them and watched them on Sunday. I was really impressed. It reminded me of what TV used to be. When it respected its audience's intelligence, when channels like A&E was truly geared towards the Arts.

And I have to say even though I've NEVER been impressed with Kevin Costner in all the years he's been on the scene, I really liked him in this. His dry acting and line delivery really worked for the character of Devil Anse Hatfield.

Like many of you, I hope this is just beginning of the History Channel's involvement and broadcast of history based mini-series.

Lifetime is re-airing it.

I love watching Kevin Costner in movies despite his acting challenges. There's something appealing about him (or at least there was. I'm not sure how I feel now). I might watch it the next time it's shown

    • fixed! Even if I don't win, I'll get the hug.
    • I just got to it!  Assuming you mean the scene where they got into Marian's computer and it's Beaty's Marian saying "Very good, you guessed the magic word.  Today, the role of Marian Crane is being played by..." and then Wolf's Brent saying "Brent Lawrence. That's right folks, I'm baaaack.  And I have Lucy..." This makes me want to know even MORE about the behind the scenes. Like did Beaty already film the Marian clip while he was dressed up, but then they couldn't film his Brent scene so they used Wolf? I don't hate it, I really like that they were able to use Beaty's Marian in that way. And LOL yes, the LESBIAN question, so funny. This story's climatic ending is really paying off. I'm not to the end yet, but enjoying the ride. Yeah, I'm not liking the Bridget now that is willing to cave and start doing the wrong thing.  We'll see what happens... Very true on the spectrum of sexuality. If they went with that story, it makes me wonder how they'd have gotten Abby brushed up on ASL in order to communicate. I don't think I could have handled the made up sign language and communication confusion scenes during his rehab. But true - it would have reminded me of Jonathan Lavery on AMC, although they were able to use a brain tumor or something as the scapegoat/way to cure his evil side.
    • I remember some of it. SO different from Billy. He was the hospital heartthrob. I have such a clear memory of Rita seducing him. I swear to God, Santana's Samba Pa Ti was playing in the background. It's funny the details you remember.  Honestly, anything that would have prevented him from being pulled into the Reva vortex would have been O.K. with me.
    • I haven't seen the episode yet. I still need to watch today's Days of Our Lives and General Hospital.

She got her guarantee. We love to see it.
    • And then, when you win, you can give him a big hug
    • Yes, this is Soapsuds. I'd like to appear on your show but Chandler Massey must be my celebrity companion. I'm surprised no one posted about Chandler appearing on the game show. He must have taped these around December, as he has the same style of hair and facial hair as he did when he did an interview for a 90s Christmas.
