I'm really hoping Crash gets a Best Picture and Director nomination.

I don't expect many surprise nominees, since this year has been pretty weak in terms of Oscar Buzz. Not enough small quality movies to pick from, and predictable nominations.

I'm hoping for a few surprises, and I think we will get some. This year reminds me a lot of 1999, where everything was all over the place except for the winner (1999, American Beauty--this year, Brokeback Mountain).

It'll probably be a rehash of the Golden Globes and SAG's, but I really think Joan Allen should be nominated in Best Actress for either The Upside of Anger or the other movie she made this year, which I forgot the name of but got a lot of praise. She's teriffic in everything she does, and unfortunately, since her movies came out before fall, the Academy tends to overlook most performances from the early half of the year.

I was actually thinking about predicting Joan Allen instead of Keira Knightly.

Brokeback, Brokeback, Brokeback (don't necessarily agree, but obviously, they'll sweep it.)

And Walk the Line too.

I would be very happy to see Crash get a best picture nomination..Hope the SAG win helps...

I will be happy if I wake up tomorrow and see Joan Allen and Crash nominated.

Crash was nominated for Best Picture, which will delight many people on other message boards that were afraid this movie wouldn't receive any love come Oscar time.

But William Hurt for Supporting, in a throwaway role? That's like when Judi won for Supporting Actress for Shakespeare in Love, for another throwaway role. I think Ryan Phillippe should have gotten that nod.
