Brad Maule started a podcast about interesting characters from where he lives in Texas. Debuted last week of November 2025. https://www.youtube.com/@MadeinNacogdoches/videos

This is somewhat off-topic, but when Tony's daughter BJ died and her heart was transplanted into her cousin Maxie in 1995, soap critics anticipated that Brad Maule would win an Emmy for his efforts. Justin Deas of Guiding Light defeated Brad Maule, causing a huge upset, ultimately winning six Emmys. Well, I recently saw an interview with Deas, and he has moved from his house to a new condo. He revealed that he gave away all six of his Emmys (including the one he won over Maule) to the movers because he wanted to "declutter."

I can only imagine what Brad Maule would think if Deas just gave away his Emmys like that!

Ugh, I don't love hearing that. I'm assuming there is more reason behind it, but that's sad to hear.

Awards for Justin Deas are not the most important thing in the world, it is his family that is the most important thing to him. He could be a huge star, but he put his career on the back-burner to be a house husband and father, so his wife (Margaret Colin) could pursue her career.

Ahh, well that's nice to hear, but I still don't like the idea of throwing out your hard-earned accomplishments when others would have treated them like gold. Maybe he's the type that doesn't think material possessions matter and it's more the sentiment / having his name be winner is enough.

Justin rarely went to awards shows. He didn't care about them.

If he gave them away recently, it may be down to him having stage 4 lung cancer.

OMG I didn't realize he had cancer, how sad. :( I hope he pulls through. I just saw the Locher Room he was on where he discussed it :(
