Best story: Anything involving The Hubbard's on AMC

Worst story: Skye's death and the aftermath with Sharon on Y&R

Most shocking plot twist: The Tale of Two Todd's

Worst plot twist: Cane is alive, his twin is dead and the insta-reunion with Lily

Most preposterous plot: Gigi/Stacy switch, OLTL

Biggest tearjerker: Angie finding out her baby is dead, AMC

Most entertaining story: Fraternity Row, OLTL

Best couple: Tad and Cara, AMC

Worst couple: Hope/Liam, B&B

Most tortured couple: Angie/Jesse, AMC

Most boring couple: Ryan/Greenlee (AMC), Hope/Liam, Hope/Thomas (B&B)

Best triangle: Steffy/Bill/Katie

Worst triangle: Steffy/Liam/Hope/Thomas (great story until Hope wanted Liam back after how he degraded her)

Best secret: Todd/Victor on OLTL

Worst secret: Avery is Phyllis' sister, Y&R

Best return: Tina, OLTL

Worst return: Patty, Y&R

Best exit: None....

Worst exit: Diane, Y&R

Best villain: Victor, OLTL

Worst villain: Victor, Y&R

Best recast: Tom Degnan, OLTL

Worst recast: Andrew Trishetta, Jack OLTL

Best wedding: Natalie/Brody & Tina/Cord, OLTL

Worst wedding: Sofia/Neil, Y&R

Best sibling rivalry: Natalie/Jessica, Y&R

Worst sibling rivalry: Malcolm/Neil, Adam/Nick/Victoria, Y&R

Biggest waste of male talent: Tom Degnan, the first promising Joey recast wasted in a chemistry-less pairing (with Kelly) and a storyline where he's presented as a total idiot and loser.

Biggest waste of female talent: Jess Walton. Best romantic pairing since Ji Min and like that one, they kill it off once they see it gaining traction with fans.

Best Lead Actor: Vincent Irizarry, AMC; Jerry ver Dorn, OLTL. Both actors carried their show much of the year and gave their characters so many layers and made you root for them even when you know you shouldn't.

Best Lead Actress: Katherine Kelly Lang, B&B. She showed so much range this year and was a brilliant supporting character when she needed to be. Being developed into a very interesting, modern matriach.

Worst Lead Actor: Cameron Mathison (can't act, character sucks), Eric Braeden (character is unwatchable now)

Worst Lead Actress: Sharon Case. This has NOTHING to do with her acting, but the character is simply unwatchable at this point.

Best Supporting Actor: Don Diamont, B&B. Just brilliant and so perfectly cast.

Worst Supporting Actor: Daniel Goddard. Can't act to save his life and so many characters have been ruined to make his character work on the show.

Best Supporting Actress: Ilene Kristen, OLTL. A true supporting actress who infused so much heart and soul into every scene she was in.

Worst Supporting Actress: GIna Tognoni, OLTL. Not sure what happened, but she was dreadful in her return. Just sleepwalking through the entire thing and miscast in a role SHE created. How is that possible?

Most Insufferable Character: Genevieve, Y&R

Most Boring Character: Lily/Cane, Y&R

Funniest Character: Pamela, B&B

Favorite Character: Queen Steffy, B&B

Least Favorite Character: Cane, Y&R

Best New Character: Colin, Y&R

Worst New Character: Genevieve, Y&R

Best location shoot: Every location shoot B&B took, as they were all so well produced. Even Beverly's trip to the hood was well produced.

Worst location shoot: None.

Best social issue: None.

Worst social issue: All of them. Shane's had potential, but of course the story was choppy and fell apart.

Best fantasy: Thomas and Brooke with the berries, B&B

Best special episode: Vickerman Premiere, OLTL

Most disappointing show: Y&R

Most improved show: AMC (hopefully this goes to DAYS next year)

Best show: The Bold and the Beautiful - I know here everybody expects the predictable OLTL choice, but B&B is an unspoken hero I feel. Especially this year it was always entertaining and very consistant in the goals they wanted to achieve. I loved the return of Amber and also Tawny. Brooke as a matriach was great, especially the flirtation with Thomas. Liam, Steffy and Hope are forming a GREAT next generation and Katie and Bill add something different and unique to the show. I'd still like more Forresters, but overal I thought the show was great.

    • I'm not sure it's as unpopular as you think.  I just think the show knew they were in a bind, and needed a proven couple for the viewers to invest in. Trying to reunite Vanessa and Ross had just failed in 87. I don't think Ed and Holly's affair was well received, as Simon and Garrett had a brother/sister chemistry. Enter Billy and Vanessa, who give you history and an out not to try and do a Josh/Reva/Billy triangle, which would've really wrecked the relationship between Josh and Billy. I'd have been ok with trying Vanessa/Ross again, and doing a Vanessa/Ross/Holly/Billy quad for a while. I hated Nadine. HATED. She had to be the most insufferable also-ran before ATWT's Julia Lindsay.
    • GROSS. Michael Swan was hot back in his ATWT days. Now he's 76 and WAY past his hot years.
    • Since she kidnapped, locked up and tried to kill her father's wife I'd say that is still a pretty big deal
    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s. Rita was accused of killing a private patient for an inheritance when she lived in Texas. Part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
