Certainly none in the 2010s. IIRC he literally fled the Q mansion on foot like a bat out of hell after being found out as being in league with Fluke. I thought it was too bad as I felt there was a real spark there with Jane. But of course they have so much bad history.

The same could've held for Richard Burgi's Paul Hornsby recast as Burgi is a very accomplished actor, but he was wasted by turning out to be serial killer. And the show passed on Jane's major chemistry with Michael Easton when Finn first came on, and seems to have no appetite for pairing her with Cody. So castoff recurring player MEK it is.

Burgi was wasted on GH. He worked with opposite Jane Elliot, Robert Palmer Watkins & Maura West. Even the brief interactions/teasing with Finola Hughes' Anna Devane held some kind of promise. The whole Paul return storyline turned out to be such a damn dud.

Hell, even Grayson McCouch's recasting into the role of Kyle Sloane was wasted, too!

Thanks.

Paul was such an empty character, but with someone as dynamic as Burgi they could have done more.

They still could with Larry but I guess they won't.

I know Tracy/Cody was never going to happen, but I'd rather Tracy have another turn on the day player wheel than being with MEK in his non-part.

At least it's not Cyrus...

You really do not. Trust me. Anyone who has watched this show 30 years or more knows they both literally cannot exist. (They're alleged to have been born in 1991-92, respectively.)

Thank you! Just confused on when Dominique had time to hide a baby from Mac since we all saw her onscreen constantly and all I ever remember her doing was hanging out with Scott and Lucy and then dying!

Sasha seems harmless enough, but the timeline is...tough.

I'll never understand GH's constantly bringing on randos instead of using literally any of the multitude of characters they have offscreen that could be used.

Literally not possible in either case. And Holly tossed off a line about her and Robert sleeping together in early '92 to make Sasha which seems implausible at best under those story circumstances at the time, but the worst part is she was onscreen for the next 18 months.

This is the shít that always pisses me off, especially when you still have people on staff who have been there long enough to know better (Korte). I can handle retcon kids even when I find some totally unnecessary (Gio), but I can't tolerate when it's physically impossible. The only message to the audience is that they think we're that fuckin' stupid.

I do like Cody, and I like him as Mac's son. There's no need (and no way) for him to be Dominique's. Sasha I barely tolerate, and the insulting Scorpio thing makes it worse.

Mac had a very full life of adventuring before he hit Port Charles and that should have been enough to build Cody around. It has barely been mined at all. The use of Dominique was another one of those throwing an older character’s name into the current show without any basis in history we watched or any connection to today. See Jackie Templeton, Jagger, Paul Hornsby, Jimmy Lee Holt for Todd Manning part 3, etc.

Especially egregious was trying to create moments between Holly and Robert by using flashbacks from her 1991 return where they were not together. I think one of them originally aired when Anna was missing and Robert was going after her, shortly before TR left. I thought Holly and Sasha did have good scenes and had good chemistry. I don’t hate Sasha as a Scorpio. I hate how they got there when logical windows exist.

To me the issue is that they have no intention of writing a meaningful story for Holly, Robert, or Mac. So they went the easy route to try to make the people they do want to write for have ties (Sasha and Cody).

Korte was there when Guza/Riche used Genie’s idea that Laura had a child while she was kidnapped by the Cassadines. As we all keep saying, she should know better.

I actually think they thought this was their way of giving a kind of love letter sendoff to Robert and Holly - it's clear someone there is a big fan. I just think it was done in the worst, most lazy way imaginable, and also to shore up Sasha who almost got cut last year (and probably should've been). But hey, their fanbase seems happy.

If it was to shore up Sasha it is counterproductive as her parents are barely on and all they did was end a decent enough relationship she had. If they still wanted to have her get pregnant with Michael's child there were other ways to break her and Cody up.

Yes, but they now have two excuses not to cut her - she's Robert and Holly's daughter (and we know Emma Samms at least will recur soon) and related to a zillion people, and she is having Michael's child. Much more of a buffer than she had a year ago.

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
