Saw this posted from SOD/SOW, ugh I hope this is NOT true

A veteran AMC actor talks about how disappointing it is fans will will never see the actual vision LB/AN had for the end the show. Right now there is 3 different finales in the work due to the PP deal.

Why should PP be a factor? I just don't get this at all. They were already scripting the ending at a place where it could be picked up if someone was interested. They don't and likely won't know what actors are staying when the show finishes taping so why does it matter?

Its not even 2 months away. If I recall they finish taping the show in about 3 weeks.

I was so optimisitc about this originally and the more I hear the less excited I am.

Give the ABC/AMC fans a satisfying conclusion and move on. It is possible.. These PP people are not impressing me.

I'm hoping this is just more hysteria. Every few days we get some news or buzz about PP that gets tweeted and posted and discussed to death mainly because gossip hates a vacuum. It's crazy to me that PP would be that involved in the creative aspect when they should be concentrating on the business aspect. Until they strike a deal with the unions, it doesn't matter how they think the show should end. I'm hoping the three finales is just someone blowing things out of proportion and that the big debate is "Should Erica leave town to go to Hollywood, Paris or back to Africa?" and whether Greenlee should be buried, cremated or her body donated to science.

To me it mostly depends on who this veteran is and what their idea of this vision was. I can't say this damns my enjoyment of the finale or damns PP because I know nothing about what these awful plans supposedly are.

I hope so.But I am also not encouraged that the same people they have had for years are still involved in the creative aspect of the show but hopefully JHC's influence is short term. I am also not as excited about this idea that the show is looking for a home on cable. I am happy for the fans who can't watch on the internet but I just don't think content for the web and television are or should be the same. But thats JMO of course.

So true. I guess I have to lower my expectations for this whole venture and look at things more realistically. But with all these returns and back from the dead ish, to me they are already heading to a conclusion. Would AN really have brought back all these characters if they were not scripting some sort of closure for fans of the show regardless of what the next generation AMC turns out to be?

"3 different finales" sounds interesting to me. I actually wouldn't mind it. I hope they do something like this: Have the last Wednesday show be something really happy & fulfilling for all of the characters. Something similar to how we all wanted AMC to end. One thing I'm wondering: Will the last 3 shows link together as one or be totally different from each other? I'd hope they'd be separate, otherwise "3 different finales" wouldn't make any kind of sense to me. LOL.

I don't see the need for more than two different endings, though maybe I'm missing the point on that....but the last Thursday & Friday episodes could be ones that cater to how PP wants the show to end. Those will probably be really tragic ones.

Unless I misread this, I interpreted this to mean they have 3 potential endings for the show's airing on ABC and haven't yet decided which one to go with, not that the show will conclude 3 different ways. Maybe I misread it though. Personally I didn't think there was a thing wrong with Agnes's vision in ending ABC/AMC as it was originally planned which was to really not end it.

Prospect Park is not the villain here. They are keeping the show alive and it's not like they came banging down ABC's door to do so. Agnes Nixon wanted the show to live on. She got her wish. I'm sure she prefers to see AMC carry on even if it pooh-poohs some great ideas for the finale she and LB had in mind.
