Has anyone heard of the new show Switched at Birth? I work with ABC Family and I’m here to bring you all the details about this summer’s new drama! Switched at Birth tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, while Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. When the two families meet, they must learn how to live together for the sake of the girls. Switched at Birth is heartfelt and real and you’ll instantly be drawn in to the characters’ lives and struggles. Catch it from the beginning on Monday, June 6 at 9/8c, right after Secret Life!

From what I've seen of the previews, how did they not realize their kid was switched? One daughter is I think Latino and one is White

I like Daphne also, hate her real parents and the other daughter. Daphne mother growing up is okay.

I really enjoy Switched at Birth. Is it based off a book? Just sounds like a plot from one of those Alloy teen novels. Anyway, the acting is pretty good, strong leads with CM, LT and Katie Leclerc is pretty impressive. I have a feeling this show can go pretty far, there's a lot of avenues to explore with all the characters.
