Raunch leaves in May. He's probably in the credits until early to mid-June. By early July, I think he is in the credits at "Santa Barbara." A couple pages back, I wrote some more about this. From what I recall, there is a period with no credited EP from about June - early August. I think Linda Gottlieb might have done some work, but its uncredited.

I don't think the big changes come until early September when Malone shows up (he may have shown up a bit earlier but I know he did the Daughters of Llanview story and I believe that is either the first or second week of September).

Craig Carlson was HW from Sept 1990-Aug 1991 and shared duties with Leah Laiman until May 1991. Malone took over in August 1991

Rauch is credited as EP til June 91 and in July 91 LG takes over. According to Wikipedia.

In a May 9th, 1991, newspaper, Linda Gottlieb's start date is listed as being July 15, 1991. It is said she will continue to work on her other projects. Paul Raunch had quit prior to this, but then by mid-May (May 18th), the papers are reporting that Raunch has already vacated the offices. Raunch leaves to assume EP position at "Santa Barbara."

This is most likely why there is no executive producer listed in the August 9, 1991 episode available on YouTube. So, it is likely that mid-June, 1991, until August, 1991, Gottlieb is tinkering with the onscreen material as there is no producer listed. On June 2, the newspapers have announced Gottlieb has hired Robyn Griggs to replace the original actress in the role of Stephanie Hobart.  Griggs claims in a paper from the time her (Griggs') first film date was May 15.

Michael Malone is announced in the papers on July 28. A lot of the material covered is about a week or two out (lots of references to mid-July events). Another interview states that Malone started watching "One Life to Live" in spring 1991 (probably late spring). He also mentions he was behind the Daughters of Llanview plot so he was there no later than the week of September 13.

When all this is being announced, the "Loving" turnover is also mentioned a bit. Mary Ryan Munisteri started the second week of August. This would probably be the same time period for Malone. I realize it doesn't pin it down as far as you would probably like.

Raunch is credited as EP at "Santa Barbara" as of June 5, 1991, on the Santa Barbara Le Site Francais page. They have been fairly accurate and it matches up with the timeline I'm reading in the paper.

Loon Lake seems to be in July, 1991. It's possible that the remote was filmed before Raunch left (circa May, 1991) or it was simply filmed in the between period where Raunch was out the door and Gottlieb was overseeing things from abroad. Best guess, even if he was involved, he probably wasn't credited.

These are from early this year when the question about Raunch/Gottlieb/Malone was asked.

Sometimes I am reminded of how much Rauch cleaned up Asa, even if he still had his rough edges. Seeing him have goons come in to beat Clint's ass is wild...and of course Erika gives her all.

Gottlieb and co. certainly leaned into making Asa harder again, but Phil gave it his all. He was often electric.

I know Mark Brettschneider (Jason Webb), who Gottlieb handpicked, turns up around August or just before so that's her work. I believe Christopher Cousins was a character Gottlieb and Malone retconned from his Rauch, etc. origins as Hudson King/Heinrich Kaiser/etc. so they could keep him as Cain Rogan, but I may be off.

I hope we can all be discreet while discussing this material online.

Sorry - I don't think I worded that right. This is from a year or so before Rauch's work.

I know, I was just commenting on the parallel.

Thanks. I realized it wasn't very clear from my text, even if the clip is older.

As you said I have been trying not to say much about any later episodes, although I did go back to watch a little of that hysterical (in many different ways) DuAnn and Julia scene. Absolutely the most suitable moment for Rauch to head out on.

When was this? I saw some of the nutty stuff with Renee.

Oh it's just the one we already knew about - the episode itself is up now instead of this old clip.

I think you're right, @Vee, because I do recall feeling the Tina/Cord/Cain storyline taking an unexpected turn when I was expecting it to wrap up.

You were right, this is hysterical (particularly in the original aired episode vs. this replay where I think they reshot for the next day). Any time I see DuAnn Demerest she comes off like some sort of Hanna Barbera cartoon character to me, but Linda Thorson is swinging for the stratosphere herself. They're both completely deranged.

This story also has one of my all time favorite Erika line reads - I can't remember it exactly, but something like, "Am I making myself clear, DuAnn, honey?"

I feel like moments such as the one posted above with Julia and DuAnn represent the kind of OTT melodrama that Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati still hope to recreate, but just don't have the cleverness or skill to pull off.

In fairness, I would not call this the height of great soap.
