Members AdelaideCate007
With Eugene and Calliope, I think that's totally it. They fit in perfectly with all the over the top wacky craziness that was going on in the 80s on TV (and especially on DAYS) and they had people like Anna, Marlena, and Tony to sort of play the straight man against some of their more bizarre behaviors, but I think as DAYS moved away from stuff like that, they- like a lot of characters- kind of lost a place on the show I guess. Plus without anyone to play against, Calliope could be obnoxious, and while I don't mind when she pops up from time to time- it's nice to see her and stuff, it really just shows that they would never fit on DAYS anymore. I agree with this too- in real life, Tiffany would have bugged the [!@#$%^&*] out of me, but she would have been totally fun to be friends with if my life was a TV show. I think Tiffany's problem was that she (like I said above) was a totally 80s character and was fabulous when they were jetting all over the world, fighting the Cassadines, going all over the world, and her and Sean's wedding was awesome, but then they never could quite seem to make her fit to GH once it started to move away from the Gloria Monty era and into the Claire Labine era. They had her become obsessed with having a baby, then had her become a drunk because they gave Lucas to Bobbie, then Sean cheated on her, then she had a miscarriage, then whatever Kevin's crazy brother's name was killed the woman Sean had an affair and Tiffany was catatonic or something for awhile because of it, and then right before she left they had her just being Felicia's BFF and Robin's caretaker while Mac & Felicia ran all over the place looking for Kevin's brother till they finally just sent her and Sean off to Boston I think, only to randomly get mentioned once in a blue moon. I remember being angry that they wrote her off while other people I hated at the time were getting to stay, but every though I didn't see it at the time, its probably a good thing they left when they did become they had just ruined her. Thinking about that makes me think of other characters from GH in the past that I loved but wonder if they had stuck around, would they have been ruined or just become insufferable to watch (i.e. Brenda and Sonny), or if they returned now, would I even still like them? Lucy Coe is the number one person that springs to mind when thinking about this (although I think she would have worked well during that whole Brenda in Rome story and probably would have made it far more interesting). Members quartermainefan
I don't know which hack it was that wrote Tiffany Hill on drugs and suicidal while Sean who adored her cheated on her, but that person had supremely bad taste. And this was considered a good time GH perplexingly. It had to be the worst idea ever, even worse than Eckarts. I do think a lot of characters had trouble making the transition from the 80s to the 90s, poor Felicia being perhaps the most glaring example, followed by Luke. Members yr9190
I know Passions in cancelled, but i guess I would have to with Ivy. I actually never really hated her, in the first two years of the show even though she was doing a lot of bad things, and blackmailing Eve etc... but i thought she had gone too far once she thought that Theresa emailed the truth about Ethan's parternity and hired David Hastings to break up Sam and Grace. Members P.J.
I hate to say it---but Lisa Brown's Iva. I mean, here's a woman who should need a valium to get through every minute of her life. She's never happy, she always got dumped, she had to deal with her whiny daughter Lily and bitchy Lucinda for YEARS. She rarely stood up for herself, or did anything that was the slightest bit selfish. Her ONE lie (adopting Julie's son by Holden) cost her her mother's respect for quite a while and her relationship with John meaning she was knocked up and alone again. Yet I loved her.
