Yes John appeared. Laurence Hugo played him at one point.

John had been in prison but claimed to be innocent.

Chris' preoccupation in finding John and helping him caused conflict with Nancy who felt her husband should be concerned with his own children.

John returned for Grandpa's 70 th in 1963.

Thanks for that information.  I'd love to see those scenes.

I've never watched this show much, but out of curiosity I've checked out some clips on YT. Early ones, 60s.

Is there a time period that was considered the best? I'm trying to decide whether to continue or not, so far it hasn't really caught my attn.

I watxhed early GL and loved it, so maybe my expectations were too high.

ATWT was a lot more slow-moving and conservative than GL. They were very different. I loved early ATWT but found early GL more compelling. ATWT could be a bit dry and conservative. I like that sometimes in a soap if done well (which ATWT was) but it is harder to get into for a newbie. Different strokes for different folks. My personal preference for ATWT was 1985-1993 but a close second would be 1967-1973. Again, everybody's different but those are the two time periods that I would consider the best. Unfortunately, there's next to nothing saved from the 1967-1973 period. The good news is that there is A LOT to be seen of the 1985-1993 period.

Hmm, I am thinking of the actresses connected to Weber during that time, both onscreen and off…that would be too much to ask for lol.  I am really really going to try to catch this live.

That's very interesting. I just looked at a Rumble channel of mine. ATWT & GL between 1952 & 1979, 77 episodes.

ATWT 1957, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1966, 1972, 1978, 1979.

As you can see, only one year in that range is represented: 1972 & it's only one episode.

1979 has 18 episodes.

What actresses are you referring to?  I seriously have no idea, other than I do know the character was involved with Frannie Hughes in 1985.

They were a famous pairing.

Julianne Moore was the onscreen pairing but Weber was also once married to actress Finn Carter who portrayed Sierra Esteban Montgomery.

Tonya Pinkins, who played Heather Dalton also mentioned their friendship and her brief crush turning into some kind of weird energy between them when Weber and Carter became a couple and how Pinkins felt somewhat hurt by it, although I can understand how a married couple could become protective of their relationship to the point of exclusion when their job requires them to be romantically intimate with actors who are not their irl partners. They were all relatively young and there were probably misunderstandings at work.

Thanks for the information.  I didn't know any of that, aside from the on screen romance with Frannie.   By the way, whatever happened to Finn Carter?

She wasn't the greatest actress in the world. She's most know for the movie Tremors - a fairly bad horror film from the early 90s. According to her IMDB page and wikipedia she had a few one episode roles on primetime 80s and 90s shows. Her last acting role was in 2005.

If you google her, the most recent thing that comes up is her arrest in 2019 for possession of a stolen vehicle as well as 14 credit cards without the permission of the credit card holders. Both of which are felonies. I can't discover if she was ever prosecuted and went to jail or not.

Lord..she was terrible on ATWT (though a lot of people liked her..) I would dread her scenes of sloowww talking and then spitting everything out..if she had a scene with Lily talking about Lily's problems the world "literally" stopped..uggh.

However, I have to say that Tremors is a cult classic and is actually good, it is in on the joke without being super campy and Carter is also actually good in it..as her character is no damsel in distress.
