Sorry to hear you're getting angry e-mail. I may not buy the DVD but I know a lot of people loved Carjack and it's a nice choice for them. Just as, if there's ever a DVD release that is more about the 70's to the mid-90's, I'd buy that, while many may pass it up.

Oh, it's no problem. Everyone needs to say what they think. I was surprised at this particular mail was from a CarJacker who said they hadn't even heard of some of these episodes. We could all debate which CarJack episodes should be included but I thought these were at least familiar to their fans.

As an old school fan myself, I would love to really focus on the oldest material and rare episodes but the market and feedback is mostly going to determine the themes of the discs. With so much material the DVDs and streaming could go in all kinds of directions. It's going to be a great year!!

Not a carjacker myself and I didn't watch ATWT for years, but I was familiar with the majority of those episodes...

I'd love to see some of Annie's other breakdowns...

That said I'm a the older the better club for a lot of it. I just have a curiosity and it is fun to watch things I don't know much about. For me it was the opposite I think since I am more GL familiar than ATWT familiar, that I got more entertainment from the ATWT set. Part of it is due to having high expectations and with 20 episodes that would be nearly impossible to reach.

And if they are doing a carjack dvd they must do a Lily and Holden one too excluding the last years without Martha.....I wouldnt mind seeing the Holden/Lily wedding..2 parter with Heather Rattray in the role...just sayin....hint..hint...Roger....lol

Thanks again Roger! I have loved what you guys are doing and I was previously more into the ABC soaps but familiar with ATWT and GL. I have loved most of the released episodes.

I have to ask though, are there any plans to get anything more from the Willows storyline with Lisa? I would love to see the episode where Lisa faces off with Hester at the mansion from 1979. I was so grateful to be able to see the one episode from that storyline on the 20 episode set.

I don't understand a Carjacker who "isn't familiar" with these moments. They're some of the most iconic moments in their story. Maybe they're thrown off by the short synopses. Maybe they expected more of the proposals-weddings kind of highlighty-thing.

Psst...I would have paid to see Bryce's Craig mix it up with Carjack. PAID. Instead, I had five years of JabbatheCraigHut slobbering over Carly any chance he got, and two years of pussyCraig making her into a drunk and stealing from Parker. UGH!

I hadn't watched either, but I have more of an affinity for the ATWT set, I just poured through those discs and watched every episode, while I admit to getting bored with GL. And of course ya'll know I'm not buying the Kim Zimmer set, but that's the first one I didn't want.

I definitely want the CarJack set, though I wish it was a Maura West/Carly set instead. I would have loved to have seen a couple episodes from her initial run and continue through her major moments until the end. And it still could have included the MAJOR CarJack stuff. Perhaps we're getting a Maura West addendum, like we did for the original ATWT and GL sets? Hint, hint Roger... ;)

But I'm not complaining at all. I'm grateful we're even getting this stuff at all and I can only hope that some of the other classic soaps will follow suit and start doing these DVDs, which should have happened YEARS ago!

It sure is! Thank you SO much for this! Though I did watch intermittently in the 90s (mainly Maura West's first run), I really became a fan of ATWT in the 2000s and it surpassed Y&R and DAYS as MY soap (though I have more history with DAYS, I admit that I was far more hooked on ATWT/Y&R in the 2000s until Y&R fell apart and I started watching DAYS more again).

This has been a real treat though, getting to watch all this stuff for the 1st time, since I was an NBC fan in the good ol days.

AMEN!

Agreed on Bryce and while I enjoyed Block's Craig (he was like a mix of SB's Mason and Keith), I think I enjoyed Carly's storyline with Lindstrom's Craig far more. Never thought I'd say that.

As an aside, I can't believe that in one decade of ATWT fanhood, I sat through 4 Craigs! Obviously I favored Bryce because I realllllly liked his Craig when I tuned in the 90s, but I HATED how he was written and the characters he was played with. Hell, I resented it, so I can't even begin to imagine how the longtime ATWT fans felt about it.

By default, I "enjoyed" Lindstrom more than Block, simply because Pissy made it clear "Craig" was nothing more than a loser and took away any and all pretense of his omnipetence. Sheffer had such a man crush on Block, he made Craig into an unrecognizable mess to play into his "strengths".

Bryce was completely wasted in the Paul/Meg vortex of suck. The talent it took to make a near baby-killer the sympathetic one in the triangle is off the charts. Firing him was a major WTF decision I will never understand.

I'm down with an all Carly dvd. There were lots of Hal-moments I loved. And natch, there'd be lots of Jack in it. ;)

    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing. I was also wondering what preempted Dallas and Falcon Crest.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.
    • I'm glad a lot of people are continuing to enjoy this show.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.
