:o BLASPHEME! Part II, even greater.

But I was going to say what Carl said, most people I know tend to marathon entire series on dvd these days. For instance, I know so many people who are just obsessed with The Wire and only started watching maybe during its last two seasons, just watching ep after ep on dvd. We talked about this a few months back, but the world is becoming alarmingly convenient and surprisingly less lucrative in some ways. I don't even need cable when so many of the shows I like are readily available on their own networks' websites for free streaming, or of course on Roku/dvd through Netflix and Amazon. It's also funny that we're essentially paying for series when we have cable these days when once upon a time the big draw was movies. No one needs cable for movies these days, you just... don't. And honestly, if cable is your route to movies, you'd probably much rather go through standard on-demand than hoping what you want to see pops up on one of the premium channels you subscribe to.

LOL. I don't really think so, but it kind of got annoying with all the hype and endless airings. The fact that everyone will tell you: The Godfather is great! without not really knowing why makes the whole affair even more obnoxious.

And, by the way, ma in vita mai ho sentito parlare di nome o cognome italiano "Amello". Mai. unsure.gif

HBO should try more niche programming. Cinemax, I don't know what their subscriber rates are or if they are losing money, but they have run a lot of soft porn stuff for years and years and some of their recent stuff seems to be more professionally produced. HBO should try to do some of that again. I remember they had some pseudo-pornish "intellectual" show 15 years ago, called Strangers -- they could do some of that again.

Yeah I remember Real Sex. Some of that seemed shocking at the time. Then you would get stuff like Nick Cassavetes and that redheaded mistress of JR's on Dallas -- not really that great.

Strangers though did push the envelope a bit more. Whenever I see Stephen Lang that is always the show I think of. Very happy memories. ^_^

This reminded me that my Nonno used to have a book (or maybe still does) that listed all the Amello's that currently lived throughout the world. Not all of them were related to us, but it was a cool thing to know there were Amello's France, Australia etc. Actually, in Australia there is a restaurant called Amello that my siblings and I have vowed to go to one day.
