Are Coolio and John McCririck already gone?! What a shame. Those two were great pot-stirrers. Guess Makosi will play that role now.

Lawd forgive me but the are-they-aren't-they relationship between exes Preston and Chantelle is already drawing me in.

Yay! Im not the only one watching. John was the first one evicted. He wanted it that way. He was fun while he was there but his last day he went on a talking strike, which killed his excitement. Coolio "walked" about a day later. He tried to play a prank on Nadia and she flipped out and complained to BB about him. He was broguht to the DR and said he wasnt going to cahnge his behavior or attitude and that was the last we saw of him

Unforutnately Maksoi was evicted on Friday. Such a shame bc I liked her. Her flashback task was hilarious. Nadia followed her out the door. I heard that she's been suicidal and has not made any appearnces since. She went in as the crowd favorite and left the most hated. I dont think she was ready for that. Did you see Plate Gate? Nadia and Ulrika had a massive fight and Nadia was vile. I dindt mind though as I dont like Ulrika.

Im loving Chantelle and Preston too. I wasnt watching when they are on but it so obvious theres still love there. She loves him and I think he loves her but isnt in love with her. Its refreshnig how they can be exes an so civil with each other.

Vanessa Feltz was put in the house a few days ago. I didnt watch her season, but I never could stand her when she showed up to offer her opinion on BBLB or Big Mouth

I didn't even know they were going to do a UBB -- I thought they would put in a new bunch of wannabes (snore) to end the series forever, but this is so much better! Especially as they are mixing up both BB and Celebrity BB contestants.

I haven't kept up since early last week as I've been away on vacay. Last time I checked, Makosi was fixing to rumble with Ulrika (who is a superbitch but at least owns it). Too bad the Great British Public were stupid enough to vote the one pot-stirrer in the house out. Feltz is a bore in comparison.

I need to look up that Nadia meltdown -- it surprises me she would be so awful.

I keep hoping Preston will fall for Chantelle again. She may be a bit of a bimbo but she comes across as a genuinely caring and decent person.

Interesting that nobody from CBB: Racism (Shilpa Shettygate) has been put on the show. I'd love to see Jo and that glamour model get their just deserts. Those two were truly vile.

What they didn't mention on the show was that apparently, according to people in the house, Coolio constantly made transphobic comments towards Nadia. Makosi said that Coolio asked she and Michelle to put their hand under Nadia's dress to see if she had a penis. Marco, Nadia's friend, goes into more detail.

Nadia also made the mistake of criticizing the relationship between John James and Josie, which angered their fans and made them vote to evict her. (The same happened to John in the first eviction I think).

LMAO! The Tree of Temptation is back and I love that sonovabitch. And Victor was an awesome patsy ("You make out like I'm the Jack bauer of bitching!") as he threatened to turn the tree into firewood. Loved it when he had to spend the day dressed up as a tree.

Woah, two drinks in Ulrika and she is ready to mack on anybody.

Feel so bad for Chantelle because she still has unresolved feelings for Preston while Preston has obviously moved on. Having said that, everybody in UBB has aged except for Chantelle who looks more stunning than when she was first on CBB.

I need to find Nadia's exit interview which I heard was a big nervous breakdown. Poor Nadia.

Oh lord, I cant stand that damn tree. I hate how rude, insulting and bullying it is. Best moment was Ben outing it to the entire house and refusign to do his task. That made me a fan of him. I thought BB would have dropped it after that as the twist was revealed but they've kept it up

Vanessa and Michelle were evicted yesterday. Eh. No big loss.

Cheap, I love the Tree of Temptation precisely because it is so rude. These celebs have a good life on the whole: they make a ton of money for little-to-no work, usually, and will be well-compensated when they leave the house by doing exit interviews. So I think a little kick up the ass from the Tree is a small price to pay.

Ulrika was such a bitch to Chantelle in last night's show. Damn.

maybe, but I hated the tree last season, as those housemates were not high paid celebrities, just regular people.

Ulrika is a bitch. I cant beleive she won her season. I didnt watch it but usually the public dont like that type of person. She is vile.

Its finally over :( I love how Channel 4 sent it off. That was a very fitting finale night. I nearly teared up at their tribute to Jade. Really she should have been in that house but unforunately that wasnt meant to be. She truly was an amazing housemate. Im upset Brian won as I really wanted it to be Nikki, but at least she got second place.

I, too, was surprised how heartfelt the "goodbye to BB" was. I know it is just a reality show but Davina McCall in particular brought home how much the show meant to her and the people working behind the scenes.

And ITA, if Jade had been alive, she would have been the first person back in the house for UBB. In fact, I was surprised the UBB house did not have a portrait of her up on the wall as commemoration. She was THE ultimate BB housemate, the one by which all others are measured. The tribute they did for her was very sad. IA with Max Clifford that Jade's fight with Shilpa wasn't about racism, it was about class -- and I was/am firmly on Shilpa Shetty's side throughout that whole debacle. And Jade certainly did not deserve what she went through -- a horrible illness that should have been detected early on.

I was bummed to see her crazy, crackhead mother featured, though. That woman has always leached onto her daughter.

I'm glad Brian won. He is a natural when it comes to answering questions. I think he should return to presenting TV. He used to do kiddies' TV and he was quite good. Nikki looked like a deer in headlights but I love her crazy ways. She really is Vanessa Feltz's Mini-Me. I also loved the Chantelle and Preston interviews. Preston looked a little shell-shocked, and I think Chantelle realized as soon as she got out of the house that she and he were never going to reunite. :(

It was a great little show. Perhaps it is good that it ended now, on a high.

I have to say Jackie looked good for a crackhead. This was the best she's ever looked

Davina McCall WAS Big Brother. She's an icon and she was a perfect fit bc she really did love the show. Im also glad they got Dermot back and he even got to host a special. He was an icon as well and I missed him. I wish they had been able to get Russel Brand as well bc he was hilariious on Big Mouth

Russell Brand = big movie star! LOL! But I was glad to see Dermot, too. Such a little hottie.

Davina was the heart-and-soul of BB. Just as much as Jade or Brian or Nikki were. She got dissed for her interviewing technique because she wasn't sneery or hardball with the housemates but I think that is a reflection of how much she loved the people who went on that show. She identified with them, to a certain extent, and in some cases she managed to pull out revelations that tougher interviewers would never have gotten. I don't think Preston and Chantelle would have opened up on Friday night with somebody else the way they did with Davina.

She was very hardball if she disliked the housemate. That was one of the reasons a lot of people got tired of her. Like the season where she didn't really make her love of "Bex" and "Luke" (two very fake, annoying personalities) very quiet and when they lost out to the more boring Rachel, she let Rachel have it.

    • And Kevin Mambo beat Shemar Moore for those two Emmys. I chalk up the wins to the voters not wanting Jonathan Jackson to eventually end up with a five peat (he won 1995, 1998, 1999). These were the 1996 and 1997 Younger Actor races. 1996: Nathan Fillion, Jonathan Jackson, Kevin Mambo (winner), Shemar Moore, Joshua Morrow 1997: Steve Burton, Jonathan Jackson, Kevin Mambo (winner), Shemar Moore, Joshua Morrow

    • Today's episode was excellent. Clearly it was confrontation day and they didn't disappoint. I'm glad they didn't forget Mona in all of this and gave us an opportunity to see how she's dealing with this. A major highlight for me were the Kat and Martin scenes. Their chemistry is off the charts and I don't understand why we haven't gotten more of this. I love how they take turns calming each other down. They feel really well matched and believable as siblings. Speaking of siblings, they anvils were dropping strong that Kat and Eva are twins but I do wish someone would mention that they are essentially hood twins which might throw people off the scent.  I'm one of the people who enjoyed Joey and the gambling storyline so it was nice to see him again. It was nice to see different characters like Mona and Eva in that element instead of the usual players. When Doug arrived I don't know what hit me but I just see a funeral in his future. He seems so hopeless and has the worst luck. I just can't see him surviving the year at this rate.
    • In fiction there has become an expectation by some that every Black character should represent excellence and perfection. It's not like we are talking about a Tyler Perry show where none of the characters are happy and everyone hates each other with a passion.
    • And on rewatch, I could've done without the unsubtle praising Matt like he was the only one who ever accepted Van as she was...but TPTB and their agendas.  It was totally in character for Vanessa to shut down emotionally until she was alone. While she could be volatile, both she and Henry believed in keeping emotions private.  Thank God it's still Bryan Buffinton in the role for both Henry's and HB's funerals. It just wouldn't have been the same with Ryan Brown, who couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Roll My Eyes.
    • I can probably believe the Spauldings reacting that way, as Alan barely cares about anyone but himself and maybe his family, while Amanda only had that one experience with the Coopers, but I see your point. I do think 1997 was a better year than the last 3-4 before it, for whatever that's worth. You are right about Marcus. Kevin Mambo winning two Emmies (the latter during periods where he had nothing to do) helped.
    • I think @Darn @Faulkner and others have a fair point re: it being an unfortunate look and coincidence. I can see their point about the two Black husbands in rapid succession, without much time in between. Frankly, based on the early casting notices I thought before the show's debut (and I still suspect) that Ted's crimes might be far worse than infidelity or a secret baby. That would've mixed it up more. It's a soap, people are going to cheat, but it might've given them more variety if Nicole was stepping out first. Still, I wouldn't trade the Leslie/Eva reveal material for anything right now. Still, Fanfic Account #3 is just looking for any weapon to attack the show for not accepting his unsolicited scripts. When it's not the husbands it's Martin, or Chelsea or Dani. He's seething it got renewed.
    • I'm pretty sure Lucy and Bridget never even have another scene together for the rest of the time they're both on the show. Bridget isn't even invited to the wedding! The lack of community feeling and continuity of non-romantic relationships during this period is very jarring. Characters suddenly only seem to interact with a handful of other characters, rather than characters across the canvas. I'm deep into 1997 in my watch right now and find that it's even stranger because the show goes back and forth between ignoring history in order to manufacture some kind of separation between characters (for example, at one point Amanda refers to the Coopers as a family that the Spauldings "barely know," despite her and Alan spending the better part of 1996 going to war with Buzz over 5th street, and Alan has absolutely no reaction when he finds out about something bad that's happened to Abby, which seems pretty out of character given how close they were in 95/96) and ignoring history in order to create a sense of community that doesn't quite fit (characters who couldn't stand Amanda are suddenly acting all buddy buddy with her). The wheels really feel like they're coming off in 1997 (although I know some would argue that the wheels started to come off years earlier). Watching the Marcus/Dahlia romance again from a 2025 perspective is so weird. Marcus is a full grown man who must be at least in his mid-20s and he's dating a teenager who is not only still in high school, but is still fully a year away from graduation, and no one says anything about how creepy that is. I feel like the buzz around Marcus gave the illusion that the show was more invested in him than it ever actually was. Even during his "big" story where he's arrested for Cutter's murder, he actually doesn't appear on screen very often. He's imprisoned, Griffin is brought on, other characters make a fuss about trying to get him out, but there's a long stretch of time where he doesn't appear at all. I've been keeping episode counts while I watch and between Cutter's death in mid-November of 1995 and the end of the year Marcus/Mambo only appears 7 times (and of that only twice in December).
    • The letter reading was very emotional, and Maeve really got to me too. I was a little worried because Vanessa doesn't give a speech at the funeral, which surprised me, but then we got the private letter reading and her true emotional reaction and I was satisfied there. The YouTube channel I watch these episodes on (if not on our Vault), also had upset commenters talk about how Nola's line about Henry not accepting her at first/seen as a gold-digger was totally untrue. It's sad the writers don't do their homework and give fans the respect (and the characters respect). And yep, Bill got up and spoke at the funeral too, which was nice.  I didn't even realize that was Sharon Leal until you said it!  I had to Google it. I loved Sharon Leal in Boston Public back in the day haha. LOL at your Reva/Josh ALWAYS commentary. What is RME though?
