I suppose that's down to having so many fewer episodes this year. I just hope they get another year.

They seem to have scraped through another year. I hope they will keep some of the positives of this year (like Emmett) and learn from some mistakes (stop the endless Esther focus).

Not a surprise. Nicole had become unwatchable by the last year or two.

If only Esther had gone too. She sucks up endless, endless airtime and is just abominable.

There's so little talk about Shortland Street online compared to a decade ago, as shown on this channel and how much they used to do for the show. Still, I did find an interview with the current producer, Oliver Driver, that has almost no views.

Also as a side note the author of this article is Elisabeth Easther - who played Carla. I also just noticed that she did the Nicole story I posted back in September.

Not knowing who that is, it prompted me to see who on the cast I still know. Just three characters, Chris, Drew, and Esther, but I also saw that they recently brought back a classic character in Libby. How's that going?

Thanks. I didn't know she was dating Logan in real life. As is often the case, they had little onscreen chemistry. 

I don't know why the show keeps killing off new characters. I also don't know why they are redoing a story that wasn't very good from a few years ago (Harry Warner pushing someone and it was seen as an accident). Also not thrilled with them turning a domestic abuse story into another psycho killer story.

I do enjoy some parts of the show now but so often it's just the above or yet more of Esther's love life and pity parties and being rude to people as we're reminded how amazing she is.

What did you think of Libby?

Brooke Freeman also appeared for a bit this year, bedding Drew. (sadly no mention of her with lovely Boyd, who has not been on this year)

I'm not even sure Libby's return has aired yet. Does anyone else know her first airdate? It's been spoiled for so long now, likely due to the new filming schedule where they finish up the year in June and then go dark for much longer due to there only being 3 episodes a week produced.
