It flopped just like the whole larger storyline for her. Joss got a lot less airtime late last year/early this one, or so it seemed. That's when I first began to wonder if Eden was long for the show. It's also when they began ramping up Gio/Emma and accepting the popular fan response to it. Now Joss is back in story (with no romance), but Gio and Emma are also getting a bit more.
What Gio and Emma need is to be heavy and active in important story of their own, and right now they're not. It's fluff - good for fans who like them, but not integral. That I think is down to FV's vaunted taping schedule as well as his priorities and preferences. I don't see any sign that he is angling to try Joss with Gio, or we'd see many more hints of it onscreen. I think they're winging it at best with Joss at this point, having acknowledged the reality of her latest failed romance and story. But I think they're still struggling to mix in FV's interests with what the audience wants (more Gio and Emma).
There's no reason the two kids shouldn't be hunting down the truth about Anna or something. All the stuff they've given BB with or about Finola is gold. Or give them something entirely new of their own.
