I watched B&B for the first time in like forever the other day. They had Brandon Beemer parading around shirtless the entire episode. I know the show won best writing, but honestly, the dialogue is atrocious, not to mention the acting. I think the trick to enjoying this show is to mute the sound and just watch Beemer strut his stuff. I'd be a fan for life.

Ahhh Chris I see you have time to watch B&B now that ATWT has wrapped up.;)

I realize that OLTL is in the toliet right now, and can't even beat a cancelled show most weeks in the ratings...however AMC and GH aren't really doing all that much better. ABC Daytime as a whole is a sinking ship, but yet they keep Brian Frons in the driver's seat.

That is what I keep saying. How does that man still have a job?

I am glad to see AMC slightly up in viewers, and the 18-49 demo! smile.gif Loving the show.

As much as I'm enjoying the OLTL flameout - and I really, really am - I'm happier for AMC and not because I think AMC and OLTL are in some kind of battle to the death. I don't. AMC made solid changes that go against the Fronsian formula and I'm glad it's paying off, this week at least. I suspect they have a lot of BTS problems to work out but so far they're holding their own.

ICAM! AMC has been great lately and it's nice to see the ratings rise in all the demos.

It's been so long since I watched OLTL regularly that I really don't care when it gets canceled or how low it sinks. Imo, it's gotten higher ratings than it deserved for the last 10 years!

ATWT is only .1 away from 3rd place. That is crazy!! [!@#$%^&*] you CBS and Les Monveis!!

Agreed--ATWT is still very much in the game ratings wise. All shows move up and down in the ratings from year to year and World Turns happened to hit a rough patch. This is the third week in a row that ATWT has made year to date gains and the show certainly has the potential to keep moving up. CBS sees that the genre is almost dead and wants OUT; otherwise, the network would have demanded PGP replace Goutman and Pissy last year.

What bothers me is that ATWT can not hold onto the Y&R/B&B lead. It is as if viewers flip off the TV after Bold and refuse to sample World. I'm pretty sure that this explains the cancellation.

I think ATWT will be up to a 1.8 soon as gains continue. The show has actually been good as of late with lots of vets, returns, and decent writing. I would have to guess that Lucky Gold has taken over a lot of the writing because the show feels very different than under DK's pen. Kudos to Lucky Gold, guy is a good writer.

Lucky Gold was terrible at GL. My guess is that Goutman essentially steered the ship for the last few months of taping.

Actually it's the 4th straight week not 3rd. I can't believe ATWT went up 5 weeks in a row in viewers. B&B can't hold Y&R lead either. Y&R is on at lunch time in most area's and has the best time slots in other areas then any of the other soaps and other shows in daytime.

But this has happened with canceled soaps before--the last 3 months of The City's run it was the ONLY soap on ABC Daytime that was gaining viewers (the others back then were all steadily dropping them).
