April 26, 201015 yr Member But we all know Regine was the HBIC of this one. She was like a younger, less antisocial Alexis Carrington. Even had the hairdo to match. And we all used to do that air trumpet thing at the end of the theme song like her lol Just say it, she had the WIGS to match. Joanie and Kimmie had that in common. And a big +1 to whoever had the idea to have her do the air trumpet! There was an ep where one of the guys brought a date over for dinner and she says that she went to a boarding school called Eastland and Regine says, "Never heard of it" and looks into the camera and winks.
April 26, 201015 yr Author Member didnt she love Trolls? It was smurfs. When they had that episode where Khadijah was accepting an award for journalist of the year and they had a "flashback" to when Synclaire first moved in, I think she brought some huge life-sized smurf doll. And we all used to do that air trumpet thing at the end of the theme song like her lol +1. Edited April 26, 201015 yr by Eric83
April 26, 201015 yr Author Member Another funny one is when Regine is dating this comic and tells him all her friend's buisness, and he uses it for his act. LOL
April 26, 201015 yr Member This show had one of the best ensembles of any sitcom ever. I think everyone worked well together. Kim Coles was a good balance to the other three women, and the men were great too, they were never too weak or too strong. There were a lot of episodes I liked but the one I remember most is the Mother's Day episode, where Chip Fields and Rita Owens played mother to Regine and Kadijah. Their real mothers playing their reel mothers.

April 27, 201015 yr Member Amen. You literally could put ANY combination of them together & have a good scene. It's a shame that FOX never had that much faith in the show. It always kind of disgusted me how FOX giddily dumped any black-related programming when they thought they had finally become a "real" network. That's one of the reasons, aside from Idol, I haven't watched a lot of their network in more recent years.

Living Single, Martin, The Simpsons, Married with Children...I even have vague memories of Roc, which was THE most intimidating show I've ever seen. Charles S. Dutton had moodswings all throughout each episode. ETA: OH and New York Undercover. With that fine, fine, fine Latino dude. Edited April 27, 201015 yr by All My Shadows
April 27, 201015 yr Member We were totally a FOX family back then. Living Single, Martin, The Simpsons, Married with Children...I even have vague memories of Roc, which was THE most intimidating show I've ever seen. Charles S. Dutton had moodswings all throughout each episode. I used to watch a lot of that too, and In Living Color. Tracey Ullmann Show. Roc was a tough show. I can't remember most of the show now, but he was intimidating. I remember that at the time my favorite character was the one Rocky Carroll played, the brother.
April 27, 201015 yr Member Ahhh yes, Roc, that was a Sunday night favorite. Remember when they went live? En Vogue did an awesome theme song for that show too. Martin was a HUGE hit in my family, the "my mummma bird" episode, I can remember us all sitting around the TV crying laughing. Debbi Morgan and Jamie Foxx had great cameo roles on Roc. Of course Debbi was married to CSD.
April 27, 201015 yr Author Member I LOVED Roc's first two seasons. The third....not so much. I was addicted to FOX during the mid-90's, Martin, Living Single, etc. were so good. I also loved the WB sitcoms as well, too bad they dumped them for Dawson's Creek, Buffy, etc. I also remember reading that Tom Joyner had organized a petition to get Living Single a 5th season is that true? Can't believe FOX cancelled them in the middle of the 5th season without any warning, that's why the finale felt so rushed. At least IMO. Martin was a HUGE hit in my family, the "my mummma bird" episode, I can remember us all sitting around the TV crying laughing. Love it.

April 27, 201015 yr Member Fox has a long history of cancelling good shows with little warning. Its why I dont even watch them anymore. Im still pissed at them for gettign rid of Tru Callings.
April 27, 201015 yr Author Member FOX canceled them after their 4th season. So they knew they were only getting 13 episodes for season 5?
