Bravo's The Real Housewives of....

On Love & Marriage, as much as I love Monique, she tried to control the narrative to the point, that it drove her mad. But I get it. I think she felt the pressure of wanting to present a strong Black family on TV to the point of her undoing. She left the show too b/c she (before Bethenny) raised the question of why they don't get residuals. That left a sour taste in Carlos King's mouth and they parted ways.

Oh? I didn't know that Foxtel was a Murdoch company. Now it all makes sense. Do you think Lisa was cast because her husband is an extremist and probably runs in the same circles as Rupert Murdoch? Aussies, please educate me.

I thought Cheshire would fit into Bravo in its early seasons. I have not watched the show since Ampika left (SIDE NOTE: She's returning this upcoming season), so I don't know how it is now. I've seen clips at the most via Twitter.

@NothinButAttitude I'm not Australian so hopefully Aussies will correct me, but my understanding was that Lisa's husband was such a hot mess politically that Murdoch and his acolytes never would have legitimately backed him on the political stage. There were so many scandals and power struggles in that extremist party of his that he was eventually expelled from it. He then transitioned into reality TV with Lisa where they put their troubled marriage out there for public consumption. They have since divorced. So I think to the Murdoch execs, he was a useful idiot they could make some money off of.

Lisa, who very likely had similar views as her husband and enjoyed the fame, came across to me as nobody's idiot. She trolled not just the other RHs but the audience itself. I suspect Foxtel saw that right away, saw that she understood the game and would be great for the show. She was an extremely controversial choice, though. Victoria voiced it on-camera and at the reunion, but she wasn't the only one who felt the Oldfields should not have been offered a platform given their extremist views.

I remember Ampika! And Dawn. The Magali! The good old days.

Good for Monique, honestly. Way before Bethenny jumped on that bandwagon.

They really all do...and I don't like the GEB like that, but even I can say they are breathtaking...especially Robyn with that fur top.

That said...you all see Muppethead trying to troll online now that the cast released pictures?

8 is too many.  6 is the magic number where we can get a nice balance of individual vignettes and group scenes.

Potomac needs to be deducting housewives, not adding to the stale numbers.

RHOSLC:

Monica is just pure trash... good for housewives, but certainly someone I wouldn't be friends in real life.  I certainly wouldn't trust her with anyone married or my significant other.

Lisa is all about Lisa.. and tonight I was understood what Monica was saying and agreed with Monica.. though I do think Monica is projecting her insecurities onto Lisa.  Actually.. she and Lisa are more alike then either would like to admit.

Whitney... you may have gotten some coaching from Candiace.. but you're still in the reading people for beginners class.

Angie K... makes me wonder why Angie H isn't there instead LOL

Heather has the best talking heads especially during the team building scenes at the park LOL

We’re so blessed to be getting this and Married at the same time.

RHOC

Wow, Heather effortlessly ate up Tamra last night without breaking a sweat. The other ladies really are complete dumbasses for how they let Tamra so easily do the same [!@#$%^&*] over and over.

I have no words. This lady has a fixation with the show, and it is not anchored in reality.

Ugh I hate to give Bethenny any clicks as she uses other people's struggles and trauma to burnish her own brand, but yes I will be listening to this interview from beginning to end. I hope B doesn't talk all over her.

They all look true to themselves:

Erin, the stay-at-home mom "but I'm still young and cute, guys."

Sai wants you all to know that she is an INFLUENCER.

Jessel cannot dress for sh!t, but look how thrilled she looks!

Of course Brynn went for 'Sexy Victoriana.'

Ubah looks like a supermodel at an awards show, but her smile literally lights up the room.

There was chatter online about Jenna's choice of jeans, and how dare she at a reunion. I knew she'd try to JCrew it. It's fine. Jenna has a very set, very controlled image of herself from her JCrew days and she's never going to stray from that. It would be, like, betraying her brand.

Speaking of Jessel -- I am screaming in excitement. YES BRING BACK CAROLE RADZIWILL

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
