Rhobh I weird for me right now.

It doesn't suck. It's. It awful. Or boring.

But I just have a hard time being invested. It's a combination of fake ass Joyce, annoying Carlton, everything is fine fine fine kyle, Brandi's desperation, Lisa's innocent act, and Kim still being on the show.

I do think Taylor should have stayed on. She was interesting. I wasn't upset she was let go. I am however still angry Kim is not only on the show but featured more than ever.

At least there is Yolanda.

First of all, DaytimeFan, I hope you'll stick around with the housewives. I love your weekly commentary and assessment of these crazy ladies smile.png

Brandi is definitely living up to her own tagline. She is her own worst enemy. For as quickly as she became a fan-favorite in season 2, she's becoming the albatross of season 4. I agree that Yolanda is giving her way too much leeway with her drunken antics. If it were Kyle or Kim (not that we could tell the difference...) actin' a fool while intoxicated, you know Yo would be rolling her eyes and commenting on it. Didn't she say "there's nothing uglier than a drunk woman?" or something to that effect last year in regards to Taylor?

We sure are getting A LOT of Kim this year. A lot. Like, they're going to her for witty talking head comments? Sigh... Suffice it to say, most of her lines are falling flat. They don't have the bite and wit of Miss Vanderpump.

Now I understand that not everyone has the ability to speak in an eloquent manner (I myself can sometimes stutter or have trouble expressing the words I want to say right when I want to say them), but Kim speaks the same way, whether she's sober or high as a kite.

Heather would never join as she'd never hear the end of it from Chelsea, and I'd think it'd be a stupid move if she did join. HWs does women more injustice in the long haul than it does justice.

Now onto some RHOA tea. . . .

I was reading on Bossip and saw an article back in Nov stating Cynthia & Nene have a falling out this season, hence why the two haven't been seen together lately. They're tons of articles on this (via google) & Nene's recent omission on GMA about missing her old castmates has brought this to light. Word is the two fell out over Cynthia becoming uber close with Kandi & still cool with Kenya.

These shows definetly do need need comedians. Heather McD would be such an awful fit and I don't think it would be a good move for her career

Dissapointing if true about Cynthia and Nene bc I feel that that is the most genuine friendship on this cast, even if Nene befriended her bc she viewed her as weaker and a non-threat. I commend Cynthia for having a voice and sticking by what she wants rather than letting Nene pressure her into dropping Kenya just bc Nene has a falling out with her. Nene, what are you doing? You may be the queen of ATL, but it does you no favors to alienate everyone on the cast

Do you think Kenya will get another season? I haven't really heard any buzz, other than people saying they're tired of her antics.

I always sort of assumed she and Porsha would go, although I guess Cynthia could too if they don't think she has story/if she's not close to Nene now.

I guess that this new woman, Monique, is there to be Nene's friend?

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
    • Of course!

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
