I know there are the preservation societies for films, but I was wondering if there was any type of website (beyond Wikipedia) which lists a lot of the lost movies or TV shows, and those that have been recovered, what some of the recovered films or TV shows have been. I guess I'm most interested to know whether or not they are still finding lost stuff. I know there is only so much to find but I hate to think that they aren't finding anymore. There are still so many old silent and early sound films, the Our Gang shorts, and so many old episodes of lost TV shows, like Doctor Who, Z Cars, the live anthology shows, et al.

^^In an age where a Bel Air can spring from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”, it wouldn’t surprise me if an actual Goncharov film or limited series gets greenlit, but could a real Goncharov ever live up to the one sprouted from the imaginations of hordes of people?

This originally aired on the UK TV channel TPTV, after being gone for many years until a 2021 rediscovery. The uploader rearranged the special into the proper order.

An extended promo plus the series finale of Paul Abbott and Frank Cottrell Boyce's early supernatural soap opera Springhill, which Russell T. Davies wrote for (and may have co-created as well?) on Granada TV in the mid-'90s and which Davies described as 'the story of the Antichrist born on a Liverpool estate'.  Apparently lost except for these materials. @DRW50

Wow. That's a big one. I just rewatched Good Morning the other day.

Ozu's work has so much to teach us still, and a lot of resemblance to soap.

This has a paywall. I can't remember the get-around @Vee has mentioned.

Not to hype this up too much - apparently it's a 1986 short film that was thought lost by its makers and then rediscovered and given a final edit. Just adding it as anything of another era that has been found again is interesting to me.
