December 17, 200916 yr Member By the way, how did we get to this subject? LOL, my bad, I had to go and mention it on my early '90s soap tangent! That's funny that I don't remember KT, then again, there probably were a ton of faces that would register now that didn't back then as I was primarily an AMC fan. I can still remember those first few times I flipped the channel to see what was going on on CBS and NBC. * * * I feel that I should mention the late Seli Groves. I don't know her for her syndicated soap column work, but I do have one of her books back home.
December 17, 200916 yr Member I think of the Daytime Serial Newsletter written by Byrna Laub from December 1972 to December 1978. It was a monthly newsletter with summaries of each soaps and after some time, she added a Q&A column.
December 17, 200916 yr Member OMG, I totally forgot about those cards! I wanted them. And weren't there board games too?
December 17, 200916 yr Member Geez, those are so detailed! Was this for the crossover Dungeons & Dragons/soap fans? I miss the days of this stuff.
December 17, 200916 yr Member Geez, those are so detailed! Was this for the crossover Dungeons & Dragons/soap fans? I miss the days of this stuff. I found these pics at boardgamegeek.com, the premiere destination online for any and all info you could want about any and all games. Those character cards are beautiful and I am sorely tempted to crop one into an avatar for this forum.
December 17, 200916 yr Member Yes, they are gorgeous. The 80s was excellent for this type of stuff. Tasia Valensia reminds me of Eden Reigel.
December 17, 200916 yr Member Oh my God. I want. I can't believe that at one time this was easily within my grip, sometimes you really should bug bug bug your parents for certain things, especially when your mom is a huge soap fan anyway. Those game pieces on the GH game look like the ones for Sorry.
December 17, 200916 yr Member Am I the only one with my nose pressed up against the screen trying to read the back of those cards? I love it.

December 17, 200916 yr Member Thank you quartermainefan! "Jesse is a talented, versatile, passionate, and inventive young black..."
December 17, 200916 yr Member Thank you for the captions, quartermainfan. This reminds me that AMC does have some classic characters from the 80s who could still impact story today, if they brought them back. Like Greg, Hillary, and Dottie.
December 17, 200916 yr Author Member There was a soap publication that came out in early 2004 and only last a year or so, I think it was called Soap Opera Previews or something. It was the same size as a Digest or In Depth. It only came out once a month and usually featured DAYS or GH as its cover. It was during the time of DAYS' Serial Killer/Captive Island crapola. I thought it was strange someone would even attempt a once-a-month soap opera magazine in the year 2004 when information would become outdated so quickly, plus the whole aspect of soaps already on a huge decline by '04. You mean these? A bit odd yes, I wonder who the publisher was.
December 17, 200916 yr Member You mean these? A bit odd yes, I wonder who the publisher was. That was Bauer Publishing (Soaps In Depth), who also published the previously folded Soap Opera Update (and does In Touch Weekly, I believe). Edited December 17, 200916 yr by YurSoakinginit
December 18, 200916 yr Member Anyone remember Soap Opera Magazine? It was pretty much a direct rip-off of Soap Opera Weekly, back when SOW was worth ripping off. Anyway, SOM was easily the WORST soap rag of all-time.
